2025 marks a foundation year for Lam Dong - a year of bold decisions and unprecedented change. The province is stepping into a new era of growth, brimming with fresh opportunities, renewed energy, and a bright vision for the future.

July 1st, 2025, marks the official establishment of the new Lam Dong Province, following the administrative merger of Lam Dong, Binh Thuan, and Dak Nong provinces.

This historic political and administrative event opens a completely new era of development for the province, making it Vietnam’s largest province by area, including 124 communes and wards plus the Phu Quy Special Zone.

The province’s development space has expanded, where highlands, coastline, and vast forests converge, creating a unified entity of geography, culture, and shared aspirations for progress.

The unification of the three provinces not only refines the administrative structure and strengthens governance efficiency but also establishes a foundation for a multi-centered, sustainably connected regional development model.

This historic occasion provides an opportunity to reorganize the province’s economic space, develop interregional transport infrastructure, establish new value chains, improve the quality of life for residents, and reinforce the province’s position both regionally and nationally.

Held from October 9 to 11, 2025, the 1st Congress of the Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee (2025-2030 term) was a particularly significant political event, marking the beginning of a new development chapter following the provincial merger.

The Congress took place amid a province-wide atmosphere brimming with confidence, momentum, and a strong aspiration for renewal.

Under the motto “Unity - Democracy - Discipline - Breakthrough - Development”, the Congress agreed on the goal of building a clean and strong Party Committee; leading comprehensive development with stability as the foundation, socio-economic development as the central task, and the happiness and prosperity of the people as the highest objective.

The Congress set the determination that by 2030, Lam Dong will become a fairly developed province and one of the region’s dynamic growth hubs in the nation’s era of progress.

The success of the Congress has generated strong momentum, inspiring cadres, Party members, and people of all ethnic groups in the province to work together to promote Lam Dong’s rapid and sustainable development.

On September 29, 2025, the 1st Lam Dong Provincial Patriotic Emulation Congress (2025-2030) was held under the theme “Emulation, Innovation, Unlocking Potential, and Working Together to Build a Rapidly and Sustainably Developing Lam Dong”. This was the province’s first emulation congress following the merger.

The Congress also honored outstanding collectives and individuals in the emulation movement for the 2021-2025 period, while inspiring patriotism, innovation, and creativity, creating strong momentum to further promote the emulation movement across the province in the upcoming period.

On October 12, 2025, Lam Dong Province held the Investment Promotion Conference under the theme “Lam Dong - Unlocking Potential, Elevating Position.” The conference attracted around 750 delegates, including more than 350 domestic and international enterprises and investors.

Through the conference, the province introduced its strategic planning, promoted its potential and advantages, and outlined investment incentive policies, creating opportunities and confidence for the business community to invest in Lam Dong.

At the conference, Lam Dong signed memoranda of understanding with 12 investors and issued certificates and MOUs for numerous projects in sectors including minerals, renewable energy, high-tech agriculture, healthcare, tourism, and services, with a total committed capital exceeding VND 33,000 billion.

With the advantages of fertile basalt highlands, lush forests, a temperate climate, 192 km of coastline, Vinh Tan International Port, and border gateways, Lam Dong is determined to build a transparent and open investment environment, recognizing the private sector as a key driver of growth.

Under the “Quang Trung Campaign” for constructing and repairing homes for people affected by natural disasters, launched by the Prime Minister, Lam Dong’s entire political system immediately mobilized to implement rapid construction and repair efforts across the province. The provincial support amounted to VND 120 million per newly built house and VND 20-40 million per repaired house.

Currently, 100% of the houses have begun construction or repair. With repairs targeted for completion by December 25, 2025, the province is now focusing on completing all new builds before January 15, 2026.

Lam Dong is one of the pioneering provinces to implement the “I Become a Commune Official” program immediately after the two-level local government model was put into operation.

Accordingly, 730 officials from various departments and agencies, along with armed forces personnel, have been seconded to support communes, wards, and special zones.

The program has promptly addressed initial challenges, enhanced professional capacity at the grassroots level, expedited administrative procedures, and more effectively served the needs of residents and businesses, thereby strengthening public trust in the government.

The “80 Years of Independence - Freedom - Happiness” exhibition was held from August 28 to September 5, 2025, in Hanoi. This nationwide political and cultural event brought together 34 provinces and cities, along with numerous ministries, agencies, and enterprises.

Lam Dong Province participated with an exhibition space themed “Lam Dong - Convergence and Radiance,” vividly showcasing the province’s development journey through different historical periods.

The modern exhibition space clearly highlighted achievements in high-tech agriculture, energy, processing and manufacturing industries, and smart green tourism, demonstrating a harmonious connection between the past, present, and future.

Also in 2025, Lam Dong Tourism Experience Month took place from September 6 to October 5 across many localities in the province. The diverse cultural, sports, and tourism activities attracted large numbers of visitors, contributing to the province’s determination to develop tourism as a key economic sector in a green, sustainable, and environmentally friendly direction.

The year 2025 marked a significant step forward in Lam Dong Province’s infrastructure investment and development, with several expressway projects initiated, including Bao Loc - Lien Khuong, Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh, and Tan Phu - Bao Loc. Simultaneously, the Phan Thiet Military Airport was inaugurated.

These projects create an integrated network connecting highways and aviation, shortening travel distances, enhancing competitiveness, and attracting investment.

In addition, the province put the 300-hectare Tan Duc Industrial Park into operation, with an investment of VND 1,200 billion, and inaugurated the upgraded Dak Nong General Hospital project worth over VND 750 billion, featuring a helicopter landing pad. These developments contribute to completing industrial and healthcare infrastructure, meeting the needs of economic development and public health.

The World T.E.A Fest 2025 was held in Lam Dong under the theme “Vietnamese Tea Essence - Connecting Continents”, serving as a major cultural, economic, and diplomatic event for the tea industry.

The festival honored the cultural value of tea and affirmed Lam Dong’s role in building a high-quality Vietnamese tea value chain with its unique identity.

In parallel, the Southeast Asia Gong Festival 2025, under the theme “Echoes of Heritage - Connecting the Future,” brought together over 500 domestic and international artists.

The resonant gongs of the Central Highlands not only honor the cultural heritage of the region but also connect communities and promote cultural values throughout the region and the world.

The International Conference on Strategy and a New Vision for the Development of the Di Linh Plateau was organized by the Central Policy and Strategy Commission in coordination with the Lam Dong Provincial People’s Committee on December 20. The event attracted more than 300 domestic and international delegates, including experts, scientists, investors and business representatives.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nghi, Member of the Party Central Committee and Head of the Central Policy and Strategy Commission, attended and provided direction at the conference.

On behalf of the Provincial Party Executive Committee and the delegation attending the 14th National Party Congress, Comrade Y Thanh Ha Nie Kdam, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, delivered a speech accepting the assigned task.
