Advanced Vascular Intervention Techniques Transferred to Lam Dong General Hospital

The agreement was created in response to practical healthcare requirements, focusing on optimizing medical resources while implementing the provisions of the 2023 Law on Medical Examination and Treatment (Law No. 15/2023/QH15) into clinical application.

Through the MoU, S.I.S Can Tho International General Hospital, a premier facility for vascular interventions, will share 20 advanced interventional techniques utilizing digital subtraction angiography (DSA) with Lam Dong General Hospital. Important procedures include mechanical thrombectomy for treating acute ischemic stroke, endovascular embolization of cerebral aneurysms, embolization of arteriovenous malformations (AVMs), angioplasty and stenting for both intracranial and extracranial arterial stenosis, as well as DSA-guided peripheral arterial angioplasty.

As part of the initiative, both hospitals will send leading specialists for on-site technology transfer and enhance their cooperation through teleconsultations aimed at addressing complex medical cases. Additionally, they will offer expert assistance in the interpretation of advanced diagnostic images. S.I.S Can Tho International General Hospital will also conduct clinical training for doctors and nurses from Lam Dong. In exchange, Lam Dong General Hospital will receive referred patients, deliver treatment, and provide information on post-treatment follow-ups.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will be effective for one year and will automatically renew thereafter. This strategic partnership is anticipated to enhance timely access to advanced stroke and vascular interventions for patients in Lam Dong and surrounding regions, optimize the critical golden hour in emergency care, and alleviate the burden on tertiary hospitals.
