Blessed with diverse natural landscapes and a wide range of outdoor experiences, Lam Dong has established itself as one of Vietnam’s leading destinations for adventure and eco-tourism. To ensure sustainable growth, however, raising safety standards and developing high-quality, professional tourism products have become an essential priority.
Adventure Experiences Rooted in Nature
From the summit of Lang Biang, paragliders soar on mountain winds above rolling green hills and pine forests, taking in breathtaking panoramic views of central Da Lat. An enthusiast of adventure sports, Nguyen Ngoc Sang, a resident of Lam Vien - Da Lat Ward, said paragliding is particularly well suited to the city thanks to its distinctive natural landscape.
According to Sang, the attraction lies not only in the thrill of flying at high altitudes but also in the opportunity to admire the Central Highlands from an entirely different perspective.
"I believe this activity will attract many visitors because the scenery is truly spectacular. From above, you can overlook mountains, pine forests, rivers, lakes and the whole of Da Lat. Flying through the sky is an unforgettable experience," she said.

Beyond paragliding, a variety of other adventure tourism activities in Lam Dong—including canyoning, kayaking, trekking, mountain biking and forest exploration—continue to attract both domestic and international visitors. Safety Remains the Top Priority
The destination's appeal has also gained international recognition, with Tripadvisor previously ranking Da Lat's canyoning tour and three-waterfall tour among the world's Top 25 travel experiences. The recognition underscores Lam Dong's strong potential for adventure tourism while creating new opportunities to diversify tourism products and attract experience-seeking travelers.
Recently, the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism instructed managers of tourist attractions and destinations to review and compile a list of tourism activities that may pose risks to visitors' health and safety. Priority is being given to activities such as scuba diving, jet skiing, surfing, parasailing and similar adventure products.
The department requires operators to conduct these activities only when all legal requirements are fully met. Businesses are strictly prohibited from offering tourism products that present safety risks or from operating under unfavorable weather conditions. Tourist sites must also regularly inspect regulations, warning signs, rescue personnel, emergency equipment and on-site communication systems to ensure prompt emergency response.
During the rainy season, safety requirements for adventure tourism must be enforced even more rigorously. Operators are expected to strengthen risk assessments, closely monitor weather conditions and require tour guides to supervise each group throughout the journey to minimize potential incidents. For visitors, exciting experiences can only be truly rewarding when accompanied by safety and peace of mind. This remains the fundamental condition for maintaining Lam Dong's reputation as a premier destination for adventure tourism.
