Awaiting the Tet Market and Flower Festival in the province's southeast
As the Lunar New Year approaches, a vibrant festive atmosphere is spreading across the province. From residential neighborhoods to urban areas in the southeastern part of the province, authorities are actively and carefully preparing for Tet, with special focus on organizing Tet markets and the annual Spring Flower Festival.

Bustling Tet Markets
In Phan Thiet Ward, preparations for the Tet market have been carried out in a systematic and well-coordinated manner. According to the Ward People’s Committee, organizational work has largely been implemented in line with the approved plan, creating favorable conditions for traders while meeting the shopping needs of local residents during the holiday season.
A total of 18 locations have been arranged along major streets, including both sides of Nguyen Hue Street, for stalls selling confectionery, alcohol, candied fruits, cotton goods, electrical and electronic items, footwear, cosmetics, decorative items, and clocks. Trung Nhi Street is reserved for vegetables, fruits, flowers, and bananas from rural households, as well as food and beverage stalls. Flower markets and Tet-related goods are arranged along Nguyen Tat Thanh and Le Duan streets, with food items excluded on Le Duan Street.
Mr. Tong Duy Long from Quarter 5, Binh Thuan Ward, said he rents space in Phan Thiet each year to sell ornamental plants during Tet. For Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026, he registered a 16-square-meter plot on Le Duan Street to sell golden and mini apricot trees from the 24th to the 29th of December (lunar calendar).
To ensure smooth operations, the Phan Thiet Ward People’s Committee has tasked the Market Management Board and the Ward Department of Economy, Infrastructure, and Urban Affairs with overseeing market activities to ensure compliance with designated purposes. The Tet market plan has been widely publicized via the local public address system, and traders have been guided through registration procedures.
For areas under its management, the Market Management Board has developed a detailed layout featuring 732 stalls, arranged along appropriate routes to prevent early goods gathering, maintain order, and minimize traffic congestion.

A Colorful Spring Flower Festival
While Phan Thiet Ward focuses on organizing Tet markets and commercial activities, Phu Thuy Ward places greater emphasis on cultural and spiritual celebrations. According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Boi Thu, Vice Chairwoman of the Phu Thuy Ward People’s Committee, the Spring Flower Festival will be held at Vo Van Kiet Park.
The flower street is scheduled to officially open at 7:00 p.m. on February 13, 2026, and run until February 23, 2026 (from the 26th day of the twelfth lunar month to the 7th day of the first lunar month).
The event aims to enhance the cultural and spiritual life of locals during the Tet holiday 2026, while also promoting the image of the locality to domestic and international visitors. The estimated budget for the event is 1 billion VND, sourced from socialized contributions and sponsorships from businesses and donors.
Currently, relevant departments of Phu Thuy Ward are coordinating closely with associated agencies to prepare infrastructure and facilities for the opening ceremony. At the same time, comprehensive plans are being finalized to ensure political stability, public order and safety, environmental hygiene, and effective traffic management throughout the festival period.
