Boosting Destination Competitiveness in Lam Dong Tourism
In the context of increasingly deep international integration, Lam Dong’s tourism sector needs to significantly renew its development mindset, enhance competitiveness, and improve the investment and business environment to create favorable conditions for sustainable business growth during the 2026–2030 period.

Unlocking resources, strengthening connectivity
At the National Green Tourism Forum held in Lam Dong, leaders of the Vietnam National Tourism Administration emphasized the need for sustainable tourism development that balances effective resource exploitation with environmental protection, in response to the impacts of climate change, pollution, and overcrowding at certain destinations.
According to the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, Lam Dong's tourism competitiveness remains constrained compared to other leading provinces. This is attributed to an unappealing investment climate, fragmented infrastructure, and hurdles in accessing capital, technology, and digital transformation. However, the province possesses a unique advantage through its connectivity between the Central Highlands and coastal regions, opening up the potential to form a regional tourism corridor and enhancing its overall competitiveness.
To transform potential into a driving force for growth, close cooperation between local authorities and businesses is essential, based on a shared vision. When transport infrastructure is developed in a synchronized manner, data transparency is ensured, and tourism products are upgraded, Lam Dong will not only become an attractive destination but also emerge as a model for competitiveness and investment environment in the tourism sector.

Targeting 25 million visitors
Aiming to welcome 25 million visitors, Lam Dong has, in recent years, focused on improving tourism infrastructure alongside the process of administrative consolidation and restructuring of development space. Both inter-regional and intra-provincial transport systems have been upgraded in a synchronized manner, with many key expressways and national highways already operational or currently under construction, thereby shortening travel times and strengthening connectivity with major economic and tourism centers nationwide.
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Loc, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, since the beginning of the year, the province has implemented a comprehensive program, organizing numerous cultural, sports, and tourism events while simultaneously launching stimulus and promotion activities targeting both domestic and international markets. The 2026–2030 period is identified as a crucial phase for Lam Dong’s tourism transformation, during which the province will focus on restructuring the service sector, diversifying high-quality tourism products, applying digital technology, and building a distinctive tourism brand to enhance competitiveness and position tourism as a key economic sector.
