Lam Dong Province is positioning its service sector as a primary growth engine from the second quarter of 2026, aiming to accelerate economic expansion and meet ambitious double-digit targets for the year.

Local consumers shop for goods during this year’s April 30 holiday.

A series of national holidays at the start of the second quarter has provided a strong boost to retail, tourism, and transport activities across the province.

According to Pham Quang Hau, Executive Director of Sonata Resort & Spa in Tien Thanh Ward, occupancy rates from the Hung Kings Commemoration Festival through the Reunification Day holiday exceeded 90%, with peak days reaching full capacity.

Retail activity also surged during the period, with major businesses rolling out aggressive promotions. Discounts of up to 50% and “buy one, get one free” campaigns on essential goods significantly stimulated domestic consumption.

Retail and Tourism Revenues Post Solid Gains

In April 2026, Lam Dong recorded total retail sales and service revenue estimated at VND 16.2 trillion ($635 million), marking a 14.37% year-on-year increase.

  • Retail sales reached VND 10.15 trillion, up 13.79%
  • Accommodation, food, and tourism services generated VND 3.1 trillion, up 17.25%

For the first four months of the year, total retail and service revenue climbed to nearly VND 62.82 trillion ($2.46 billion), up 13.15% year-on-year.

  • Retail sales: VND 39.14 trillion
  • Hospitality and tourism: over VND 12.11 trillion, up nearly 18%

These figures reinforce the service sector’s role as the leading contributor to Lam Dong’s economic growth trajectory.

Trade, Tourism and Transport Anchor Expansion

At a recent provincial meeting, statistics officials highlighted the service sector’s critical role in driving economic growth, calling for intensified efforts in the remaining quarters of the year.

Trade is expected to serve as the core growth pillar, supported by strong contributions from tourism and transportation.

To sustain momentum, Lam Dong is scaling up domestic market development programs and demand-stimulation initiatives, including the nationwide “Vietnamese People Prioritize Vietnamese Goods” campaign.

Summer Tourism Campaign to Drive Revenue

The province has also launched its “Summer Tourism 2026” program, running through August, featuring a wide range of events and promotional activities designed to attract visitors and boost spending.

Through these combined efforts, Lam Dong is targeting:

  • Tourism revenue: VND 71.5 trillion
  • Transport and warehousing revenue: VND 17.52 trillion

Officials say achieving these benchmarks will be pivotal not only for meeting the service sector’s double-digit growth targets but also for sustaining broader economic expansion in 2026.

With strong seasonal demand, proactive policy adjustments, and a coordinated push across trade, tourism, and logistics, Lam Dong’s service sector is emerging as a central pillar in the province’s evolving growth model.
