Cinema Gala Helps Promote the Beauty of Phu Quy’s Sea and Islands

Art and cinema connect communities with the island’s identity

On the evening of June 12, the Lam Dong Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in coordination with relevant agencies and the People’s Committee of Phu Quy Special Zone, organized a Cinema Gala themed “Lam Dong – A Journey of the Sea, Flowers and Great Forests.” The event attracted a large number of local residents and visitors.

The gala was one of the highlights in a series of cultural, artistic, tourism promotion and destination marketing activities aimed at showcasing the potential, strengths and image of Phu Quy as a green, clean, beautiful, friendly and attractive island destination. The program also sought to promote cultural and artistic values in destination branding and encourage civilized tourism practices, thereby enhancing the province’s tourism image and supporting the sustainable development of tourism in Lam Dong.

In this emotional setting, the Cinema Gala served as a cultural bridge, bringing cinematic art closer to local communities, enriching spiritual life and spreading humanistic values, patriotism and national pride.

Le Hong Loi, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Phu Quy Special Zone, said the event provided an opportunity to reflect on the beauty of a homeland that brings together forests, highlands and islands, while preserving rich cultural values and significant development potential.

“For Phu Quy, tourism development is not simply about adding more services or attracting more visitors. More importantly, we must preserve the island’s pristine values, the sincerity and warmth of local people, and protect a green, clean and beautiful living environment for future generations,” Le Hong Loi emphasized.

On this occasion, the program presented 45 gifts to disadvantaged students with outstanding academic achievements and organized film quizzes with prizes for local residents.

Audiences also enjoyed documentary screenings and feature films such as Red Rain and The Tunnel, along with animated and science-fiction films.
