Creating safe and distinctive tourism destinations
As local authorities continue investing in infrastructure and tourism products, many coastal destinations in southeastern Lam Dong Province are also focusing on creating unique check-in spots and strengthening digital promotion efforts to attract more visitors.

Creating new highlights for travelers
On weekends, the public beach area in Tien Thanh Ward becomes lively from early morning as visitors gather around the newly developed “Check-in Tien Thanh” attractions to take photos and explore the coastline.
The installations are carefully designed using environmentally friendly materials such as wood, woven umbrellas, bamboo boats and sea sand. Beyond their artistic appeal, the spaces also reflect the locality’s commitment to green and sustainable tourism while preserving the natural beauty of the coast.
Huynh Thi Thu Van, a visitor from Ham Thang Ward, said she and her friends decided to visit after seeing videos and photos shared on Facebook.
“The scenery looks exactly like the pictures on socail medias” she said. “There are many creative photo spots here that fully capture the beauty of the beach with blue sea, white sand and golden sunshine.”
The growing popularity of check-in tourism is helping localities create distinctive tourism identities and new visitor experiences. At the same time, every image shared by tourists on social media has become a powerful and cost-effective form of destination promotion.
One example is the famous “Lonely tree” on Phu Quy Island, which gained widespread attention online and quickly became a must-visit photo location for travelers.
According to Tran Thi Trung Trinh, Vice Chairwoman of the People’s Committee of Tien Thanh Ward, beautiful landscapes alone are no longer enough in today’s highly competitive tourism market.
“Tourism destinations now need clear branding and effective digital communication strategies,” she said, adding that developing recognizable check-in locations is an important first step.
With the message “Every tourism business is a highlight, each resident is a tourism ambassador,” along with coordinated cultural and tourism activities, Tien Thanh Ward has attracted nearly 12,000 visitors since the beginning of the year and is gradually emerging as a preferred destination on Lam Dong’s tourism map.
Building a safe tourism environment
While attractive scenery, locals' hospitality create first impressions, local authorities say safety environment is essential for encouraging visitors to comeback.
Therefore, coastal destinations such as Mui Ne, Phan Thiet, Phu Thuy, Tien Thanh and La Gi have placed strong emphasis on maintaining public security and tourism safety.
Besides, task forces regularly patrol beaches, tourist streets and accommodation areas to quickly respond to incidents, support rescue operations and ensure a safe environment for visitors.
Environmental hygiene and food safety are also being prioritized. Restaurants and tourism businesses are required to strictly follow regulations on food sourcing, processing and storage, while waste collection and disposal systems are being strengthened to protect the coastal environment.
Nguyen Thi Boi Nhu, Vice Chairwoman of the People’s Committee of Phu Thuy Ward, said tourism image-building starts not only with major projects but also with the everyday behavior and service attitude of local residents and businesses.
“We want visitors to truly experience the lifestyle, culture and rhythm of coastal communities,” she said. “At the same time, we aim to position Phu Thuy as a tourism destination rich in local identity.”
The combination of beautiful landscapes, engaging travel experiences and a safe, civilized tourism environment is helping strengthen the appeal of southeastern Lam Dong’s coastal destinations, while also opening up new opportunities for economic growth and cultural promotion in the digital era.
