Dalat Flower Festival 2026: When the Highlands Call the Flower Season
Each flower season leaves behind its own cherished memories: blossoms by the lake, mist-shrouded highland roads, music echoing through romantic landscapes, and encounters that leave visitors reluctant to say goodbye. This December, the 11th Dalat Flower Festival returns under the theme “Dalat – A Symphony of Flowers and Music,” inviting visitors to an emotionally enriching experience and to discover the beauty of the Dalat area, along with the distinctive cultural and tourism offerings of Lam Dong Province.

Every flower season brings its own treasured memories: blooms by the lake, fog-covered mountain roads, melodies resonating through scenic views, and moments that make visitors hesitant to depart. This December, the 11th Dalat Flower Festival is back with the theme “Dalat – A Symphony of Flowers and Music,” welcoming guests to a soul-stirring experience and showcasing the charm of the Dalat region alongside the unique cultural and tourism offerings of Lam Dong Province.

Certain locations are famous for their stunning landscapes, while others enchant visitors through their rich culture and experiences.
In the Dalat region, however, the attraction stems from a distinct combination of highland climate, consecutive flower seasons, a relaxed lifestyle, and a romantic allure that has become its defining feature.
Emerging from this passion, the Dalat Flower Festival has gradually evolved into a key cultural and tourism event, bringing the essence of the “City of a Thousand Flowers” closer to audiences both locally and internationally.

Reflecting on the 2022 flower season, the 9th Dalat Flower Festival brought back enthusiasm to both locals and tourists after a break due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Under the theme “Dalat – A City of Flowers in All Four Seasons,” the festival took place from November 1 to December 31, featuring two months of lively celebrations that helped revitalize tourism in the highlands.

A standout aspect of the festival was its broader outreach, sharing the story of flowers and the unique values of the region with more communities. The “Dalat – Flower Village Tourism” initiative provided visitors with chances to learn about flower farming, interact with growers, and discover the process behind the renowned products of the area.

In Bao Loc, the artistic program “Bao Loc – The Fragrance of Tea, the Colors of Silk” celebrates tea cultivation, silk production and the locality’s distinctive cultural values. A street carnival, hot-air balloon festival, vegetable and flower fair, and activities showcasing Lam Dong’s tea, coffee, wine and local specialties further enrich the festival experience.

From floral displays and traditional craft villages to artistic performances and agricultural products, the festival has broadened the story of the highlands. Visitors come not only to admire the flowers but also to gain a deeper understanding of the people, culture and values nurtured over generations.

In 2024, the 10th Dalat Flower Festival continued to leave its mark with the theme “Dalat Flowers – A Symphony of Colors.” While the 2022 festival revitalized the region following the pandemic, the 2024 event showcased a deeper integration of flowers with music, contemporary art, and global cultural exchanges.

The opening ceremony, which took place on the evening of December 5, 2024, at Lam Vien Square, kicked off a series of meticulously coordinated cultural, artistic, and tourism events. Illuminations, music, and advanced projection techniques fused with visuals of roses, hydrangeas, mimosa, and wild sunflowers, creating a lively artistic depiction of the highlands.

Floral arrangements can be seen in various places, including Xuan Huong Lake and its nearby parks, Le Dai Hanh Street, Ong Dao Bridge, and the city's flower garden.
The street carnival themed “Flowers and Heritage” featured flower floats, fashion shows, and street performances, showcasing traditional beauty in both fresh and innovative ways.

Cultural and artistic collaborations between Dalat and Chuncheon, South Korea, along with promotional efforts highlighting tea, coffee, wine, vegetables, flowers, and OCOP products, further broadened the festival's impact.
According to the event's summary report, Lam Dong attracted roughly 2 million visitors during the 2024 festival, with overall revenue estimated at more than VND 3.6 trillion.

This continuity has established a framework for the Dalat Flower Festival to continue changing and growing more attractive with every edition.

Dalat

The 11th Dalat Flower Festival 2026, which carries the theme “Dalat – A Symphony of Flowers and Music,” will continue to highlight the region’s strengths in floriculture alongside its increasing reputation for musical innovation.
According to the schedule, the opening ceremony is set for 8 p.m. on December 19 at Lam Vien Square. An artistic program to celebrate the New Year 2027, along with the festival’s closing ceremony, is expected to take place at the same location on the evening of December 31.

What makes this year’s festival especially anticipated is not just its vibrant flower displays and large-scale artistic performances, but also how it brings together natural beauty, cultural heritage and creativity through a diverse range of visitor experiences.

Flowers have a language of their own: the soft blush of pink, the brilliance of yellow and the dreamy hues of purple. Their beauty appears in sweeping fields of blossoms, in growers carefully tending each row of plants, and in the hands of those who quietly craft the products that have brought the region renown.
When paired with music, this beauty takes on rhythm and emotion, offering a new way to tell stories. The festival is therefore more than an occasion to admire flowers; it is also an opportunity to listen, explore and create lasting memories.

According to the proposed schedule, the festival in 2026 will include 11 main programs along with 25 supplementary activities and events. Floral displays are expected to take place from December 18, 2026, to January 3, 2027, featuring themed displays, flower-adorned streets, and floral parks around Xuan Huong Lake, Tran Quoc Toan Park, Yersin Park, Bich Cau Peninsula, and various roads throughout the Dalat region.

The international exhibition of flowers and ornamental plants, an orchid showcase, and artistic displays of fresh flowers will provide visitors with an opportunity to appreciate a diverse array of blossoms and creative expressions.
At the same time, the Tea, Coffee, and Wine Street, along with OCOP products and local delicacies, as well as the “Dalat – The Miraculous Crystallization of Fertile Land” Vegetable and Flower Fair, will present unique offerings from Lam Dong to guests.

The Vietnam Jazz Festival 2026 is scheduled to take place at Xuan Huong Lake from December 25 to December 27, followed by a carnival featuring bands and modern dance troupes on December 31.
These events will infuse the celebrations with music. As the year comes to a close, guests can relish both floral exhibits and artistic performances.
They may begin by taking a leisurely walk by the lake, surrounded by flowers and the refreshing highland air, before exploring flower villages and tasting local coffee, tea, and delicacies. An evening filled with music in the picturesque highland setting can complete the journey, creating cherished memories.

This year's celebration aims to promote involvement throughout Lam Dong Province. It provides a chance to link the festival venues in the Dalat region with unique products, attractions, and cultural values from various areas of the province.
From the beauty of flowers to the scent of tea, from silk to agricultural goods, and from highland scenery to local cultural experiences, attendees can enhance their travels through a diverse array of options.

A successful festival season is remembered not only for its dazzling programs over a few days, but also for the lasting values that remain after the festival concludes.
These include the destination's image being promoted more widely, local products gaining more opportunities to reach new markets, the flower-growing profession being honored, and local residents having greater motivation to preserve their local landscapes and cultural heritage.

For Lam Dong, the 2026 Dalat Flower Festival serves as a chance to encourage community involvement. The initiative, “Everyone Plants Flowers, Every Household Plants Flowers and Trees in Celebration of the 11th Dalat Flower Festival 2026,” seeks to cultivate greener, cleaner, and more attractive environments, bringing flowers and greenery more thoroughly into everyday surroundings.
As communities, neighborhoods, workplaces, and schools collaborate to enhance the local scenery, the festival's spirit will move beyond the stage and become part of daily life.

These efforts also underpin the lasting appeal of a tourism brand. Its strength lies not only in attractive photo spots, but also in a well-maintained environment, friendly services, distinctive local products and the hospitality of its people.
Visitors may come for the flowers, but they are likely to remember the destination even longer for its authentic experiences, warm encounters and welcoming atmosphere.

Over the years, the Dalat Flower Festival has gradually broadened the way it tells the story of the region. While flowers continue to be a central emblem, they are now accompanied by music, art, traditional crafts, agriculture, and goals for sustainable tourism development.
In today's expanded Lam Dong Province, these values have more opportunities to come together, creating a more diverse journey of discovery for visitors.

In December, as the highlands embrace the festival season, the Dalat region will again attract visitors enticed by the vibrant colors of flowers and the melodies of music. Some come back to relive fond memories; others visit for the first time to explore the beauty they have heard about; while some merely want to enjoy the last days of the year on a relaxing trip immersed in nature and art.

Perhaps the most compelling invitation of the Dalat Flower Festival lies not in elaborate promotional messages, but in the experiences awaiting every visitor: walking among seasonal blooms, listening to the rhythms of the highlands, meeting the people who shape the region’s beauty, and taking home unforgettable memories.
