Heroes through 2 resistance wars

Fifty-one years ago, during a vigorous offensive period, our army and the people throughout the southern battlefield coordinated effectively in Da Lat - Tuyen Duc, merging armed struggle with political efforts and engaging in propaganda and mass mobilization activities within the city. This approach led to the rapid disintegration and confusion of the Saigon administration.

The local revolutionary forces skillfully assessed the situation, preserving crucial facilities, documents, and properties of the People nearly intact. In the historic days of April 1975, Da Lat - Lam Dong was fully liberated, playing a significant role in the historic Spring Victory of 1975, which ushered in a new era for the Vietnamese people—an era of national independence linked with socialism.

Throughout the two resistance wars, Da Lat emerged as a hub for the revolutionary movement, especially following the establishment of the first Party cell, which united various segments of society to achieve numerous victories, contributing to the nation's historic legacy. In the midst of challenging and intense combat, 733 heroes lost their lives, 323 veterans sacrificed parts of their bodies for the country, and over 1,100 officials and citizens faced capture, torture, and imprisonment at the hands of the enemy. Da Lat has been rightfully honored with the title of "Heroic City."

Integration and development

After over fifty years of development and innovation, Da Lat has consistently advanced, achieving grade I urban status within the province, becoming a renowned tourism and resort hub in the nation, while progressively expanding its regional and international footprint. As it enters a new phase of growth marked by administrative reform, Da Lat has been reorganized into five wards: Xuan Huong - Da Lat, Lam Vien - Da Lat, Cam Ly - Da Lat, Xuan Truong - Da Lat, and Lang Biang - Da Lat.

Lang Biang - Da Lat Ward was previously part of Lac Duong district. Following the merger and the adoption of the name Da Lat, the Ward's Party Committee, local government, and residents have worked hard to transform the area into a desirable tourist destination that is green, welcoming, and rich in local identity. This effort contributes to making the Da Lat region a renowned tourist urban center in the country.

As stated by Tran Thi Chuc Quynh, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairwoman of the Ward People's Council, in line with the five key breakthroughs established during the First Ward Party Congress for the period of 2025 - 2030, the Ward's Party Committee is dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the traditional cultural values of the Lang Biang - Da Lat community.

Accordingly, the Ward Party Committee adopted a resolution on cultivating the culture and citizens of Lang Biang - Da Lat for comprehensive development, promoting the values of "Gentleness - Elegance - Hospitality - Gratitude" as a robust spiritual foundation and a crucial internal strength to ensure the swift and sustainable progress of Lang Biang - Da Lat Ward.

This aligns with the national goals of "prosperous people, a strong nation, democracy, justice, and civilization," positioning the ward to collaborate with the Party Committee, government, and citizens of Lam Dong Province and the entire country as they embark on a new era of growth, prosperity, and happiness.

Affirming the Da Lat brand

In the early months of 2026, the socio-economic landscape of the Da Lat wards has seen significant improvements, with high-tech agriculture, tourism, and services increasingly solidifying their essential roles. The Cherry Blossom Flower Festival - Da Lat Spring 2026 was a great success, drawing thousands of participants and visitors, further reinforcing the identity of "Da Lat - Flower Festival City."

Efforts in environmental protection, urban beautification, and the creation of green, clean, and appealing landscapes are being carried out in a coordinated manner; initiatives for infrastructure development, street renovations, drainage improvements, and the enhancement of the central area have been vigorously pursued, contributing to a more spacious and civilized appearance of the wards.

Simultaneously, considerable attention is given to the socio-cultural domain. The execution of social security initiatives is thorough, fostering agreement and trust within the community. Significant advancements have been made in administrative reform, with a 99% rate of timely processing of procedures and a satisfaction rate exceeding 96%. These figures vividly illustrate the dedication and efforts of the entire political system in continuously improving service to the public.

In addition to socio-economic progress, significant focus has always been placed on developing the Party and the political system. The Party Committees at the ward level consistently enhance their leadership abilities, encouraging the pioneering and exemplary conduct of cadres and party members; they continue to promote the learning and application of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics, and style; and they aim to create a government apparatus that functions effectively and efficiently, remaining close to the people and serving their needs.

Da Lat is currently expanding in line with the overall growth of Lam Dong province and the nation as a whole. The Xuan Huong - Da Lat Ward, located in the heart of the tourist city, along with other wards such as Lam Vien - Da Lat, Cam Ly - Da Lat, Xuan Truong - Da Lat, and Lang Biang - Da Lat, have been actively fostering a spirit of collaboration, innovation, and creativity to further contribute to Lam Dong province's development.

The leaders of Xuan Huong - Da Lat Ward state that in the near future, the Party Committee and residents of Xuan Huong - Da Lat will persist in honoring the proud legacy of their homeland, working together as one, striving to overcome all challenges, and seizing development opportunities to create a locality that is increasingly affluent, picturesque, and civilized, fitting of being a hub in the renowned tourist city of the nation.

In 2014, the Prime Minister signed Decision No. 704/QD-TTg, which approved the revised General Plan for Da Lat and its surrounding areas, spanning until 2030 with a long-term vision extending to 2050. Additionally, the Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee issued Resolution No. 04-NQ/TU, which outlined objectives to transform Da Lat into a contemporary urban center and a hub for creativity, eco-tourism, luxury resorts, and international-level cultural and heritage tourism. Furthermore, it aims to establish the city as a regional center for culture, arts, physical fitness, sports, and entertainment, as well as a noteworthy venue for creative and performing arts.
