Nestled in Lam Dong Province, Di Linh Commune is reaching for a bold future — turning its coffee from a local economic staple into a nationally recognized product with global potential. Local leaders are focusing on replanting efforts, boosting quality, investing in advanced processing, and building a standout brand to bring this vision to life.

Coffee: The Lifeline of Di Linh’s Economy

In Di Linh, coffee isn’t just a crop — it’s the heartbeat of the local economy and a key to future development. The commune relies on it not only as the main source of income for residents but also as a springboard for sustainable agriculture and brand expansion.

Today, Di Linh cultivates about 12,859 hectares of coffee, making up 80% of its perennial crop area. More than 2,300 hectares have been replanted or grafted with new, high-yield varieties that resist disease and adapt better to climate change.

With coffee prices surging between 2022 and 2025, many households have reinvested in their farms, boosting both incomes and quality of life. Farmers are also increasingly intercropping with durian, macadamia, and avocado — a smart move that diversifies income and reduces financial risk.

Focusing on Quality and Added Value

In a globalized world, Di Linh is aligning with national efforts to turn coffee into a strategic export. The mission: raise quality and add value through deeper processing and smarter branding.

Currently, more than 1,360 hectares of coffee farms in the area meet international standards such as 4C, RA, and UTZ. Another 12.5 hectares are certified organic. Local farmers are shifting from traditional methods to more sustainable practices, including using fewer chemical fertilizers, adopting eco-friendly products, and enhancing post-harvest processes.

To support the rise of Di Linh’s specialty coffee, cooperatives and businesses have invested in wet processing systems, sun-drying racks, and modern storage solutions.

Cooperatives Lighting the Way

A standout example is the Hoa Linh Coffee Cooperative, launched in September 2022. What began as a small venture has become a model of collaborative production and marketing. The cooperative now oversees an 80-hectare coffee-growing area, with 30 households — many now producing certified organic beans — taking part.

From Local Specialty to National Symbol

Di Linh’s goals go beyond sustaining coffee as its main crop — the commune wants to elevate Di Linh Coffee to a nationally known brand with international appeal, bringing greater prosperity to local farmers.

Simultaneously, the commune is ramping up brand-building and marketing while integrating production with deep processing to increase product value and raise farmer incomes.

With clear vision, strategic investments, and strong branding, Di Linh Coffee is on a promising path to becoming a name recognized far beyond Vietnam.

Between 2026 and 2030, Di Linh plans to:
Achieve a production value of 220 million VND per hectare by 2030
Expand its organic farming footprint
Drive growth in the specialty coffee segment
