As the hot season arrives ahead of the summer tourism peak, Lam Dong Province is expected to become an attractive destination for domestic travelers thanks to its diverse tourism spaces stretching from coastal landscapes to flower-filled highlands.

A wide range of entertainment and recreational activities took place during the recent April 30 and May 1 holiday in Lam Dong’s coastal tourism areas.

Destination appeal strengthens ahead of the peak travel season

During the April 30 and May 1 holiday period, the province recorded a strong tourism rebound, welcoming approximately 620,000 visitors, up around 21% compared to the same period in 2025. Of the total, domestic tourists accounted for about 600,000 arrivals, while total tourism revenue exceeded VND 1.4 trillion.

The results not only reflect the sustained appeal of Lam Dong as a destination, but also open up significant opportunities for the province’s tourism industry to accelerate during the 2026 summer peak season — the key period for the domestic travel market.

Alongside favorable factors such as the extended holiday and hot weather, Lam Dong has remained a popular destination for travelers in recent years. In addition to a safe and friendly tourism environment, visitors can enjoy a wide range of entertainment and leisure experiences, including newly introduced attractions in the Da Lat area, check-in cafés, live music spaces, beach activities and affordable seafood experiences in the Phan Thiet area.

During the recent holiday, occupancy rates at most accommodation facilities across the province averaged between 70% and 80%, while the 3- to 5-star hotel segment reached 85% to 96%, with some days recording full occupancy.

In addition, more than 80 tourism businesses and travel companies across the province are participating in the “Welcome Summer Tourism 2026” program, offering attractive promotional combo packages and tourism stimulus campaigns from now until the end of October 2026 to meet the increasingly diverse demands of Vietnamese travelers.

Among tourism products, beach tourism continues to be the top choice for families, groups of friends and corporate travelers seeking to escape the summer heat, enjoy seaside activities and savor fresh seafood.

Many resorts and hotels have introduced competitive all-inclusive packages combining accommodation, cuisine, spa services and entertainment amenities to attract new visitors and increase return rates.

Tran Anh Thi, Chief Executive Officer of Seahorse Resort & Spa Mui Ne, said tourism stimulus programs are not merely about discounts, but also an opportunity to improve service quality and strengthen the image of a friendly, safe and green destination.

Reasonably priced combo packages that still deliver premium experiences will help leave a positive impression on visitors this summer.

Creating momentum for a summer tourism breakthrough

According to several accommodation providers in the Mui Ne area, most visitors during the recent holiday were Vietnamese travelers — a relatively uncommon trend in previous years. This is considered a positive signal for the tourism business community, despite the fact that the summer peak season has not yet officially begun.

With the current growth momentum, occupancy rates are expected to remain stable and may further improve once the summer travel season fully starts. In particular, demand from domestic tourists for tourism stimulus packages continues to rise.

These results are creating favorable momentum for Lam Dong’s tourism sector to accelerate in the coming summer months.

According to the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in the first four months of 2026, the province welcomed nearly 8 million visitors, up 20% year-on-year and fulfilling 31.6% of the annual target. Domestic travelers accounted for approximately 7.3 million arrivals.

Tourism revenue exceeded VND 21 trillion, marking a 25% increase compared to the same period last year and contributing to sustainable local economic growth while supporting the province’s goal of achieving double-digit growth.

At a recent working session with the provincial People’s Committee, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Loc stated that, with the attention, support and resources provided by provincial leaders, the tourism sector has implemented numerous tourism stimulus activities across different localities.

Tourism infrastructure has also been upgraded in a synchronized manner, including the renovation and expansion of National Highways 1A, 55 (through former Binh Thuan province ), 14, 28 (through former Dak Nong province ), and 28B, as well as repair and upgrade work at Lien Khuong Airport.

Lam Dong Province has remained a familiar destination for many travelers in recent years.

In 2026, Lam Dong aims to welcome more than 25 million overnight visitors and generate tourism revenue of VND 71.5 trillion.

Beyond growth targets, the figures underscore tourism’s continued role as a key economic sector within the province’s new development landscape.

With favorable transportation infrastructure, diverse experiential tourism products, high-end resort and entertainment services, and a safe and friendly tourism environment, combined with the unique advantages of highland climate, forest ecosystems and coastal-island resources, the province is expected to develop long-stay tourism product chains, improve visitor retention and create new growth opportunities for the tourism industry in the coming period.

At a recent working session, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Dinh Van Tuan requested the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to concretize the orientation of “communications going one step ahead,” creating a concentrated tourism promotion campaign to attract visitors and investors through the “Welcome Summer Tourism 2026” program.

The province is also expected to develop a dedicated communication campaign titled “Lam Dong Tourism – Summer Breakthrough 2026,” thereby contributing to socio-economic development and creating momentum for the province’s double-digit growth target in 2026 and the years ahead.
