Domestic trade has been recognized as a major factor in Lam Dong’s economic development in 2026, alongside industry, energy, and exports. According to the provincial Department of Industry and Trade, the sector not only contributes directly to GRDP but also helps attract investment, expand production, create jobs, and boost budget revenue.

As of early 2026, the province had 260 traditional markets, six shopping centers, nine supermarkets, 120 Bach Hoa Xanh outlets, 39 Winmart+ convenience stores, and approximately 856 operational fuel stations. The retail network continues to grow to meet consumer needs and support growth targets.

This year, Lam Dong is targeting total retail sales and service revenue of 322.8 trillion VND, up 23.5% from the previous year. Of this total, retail sales of goods alone are expected to reach 217 trillion VND, making up more than 67% and increasing by nearly 24%.

At the same time, the province is investing in modern trade infrastructure and strengthening distribution systems to keep pace with urban growth. By 2026, two new shopping centers and two markets are expected to open, alongside further market development projects and the expansion of retail space in residential areas.
The promotion of digital transformation and e-commerce is also underway, with a boost in technology use within retail and assistance for businesses in expanding online shopping and payment options.

Tourism is anticipated to continue as a significant growth catalyst, contributing to higher trade and service revenues. This year, Lam Dong aims to attract 25.08 million visitors, including approximately 1.58 million international tourists, with an expected tourism revenue of 71.5 trillion VND. Local authorities are concentrating on enhancing visitor expenditure and extending their stay, alongside organizing large-scale events and festivals to encourage spending.

In the first quarter of 2026, the province's total retail sales of goods and service revenue were estimated to exceed 49.5 trillion VND, reflecting an 18.42% increase compared to the previous year. Retail sales alone approximated 30.5 trillion VND, marking a rise of 15.82%, while revenue from accommodation, food services, and tourism was nearly 9.97 trillion VND, an increase of almost 30%.

With strong contributions from energy, industry and the support of domestic trade and exports, Lam Dong is aiming for double-digit growth in 2026, creating momentum for overall GRDP expansion.
