Using culture as its foundation, Lam Dong is reshaping its tourism strategy toward high-quality development. Alongside events and infrastructure, this approach is expected to drive breakthroughs and enhance the destination’s competitiveness.
Cultural and tourism events are increasingly being organized in a more systematic and professional manner.
Culture - A Central Role in Tourism Structure
In reality, culture is playing an increasingly important role in shaping tourism products in Lam Dong. It goes beyond events and festivals, reaching into everyday life, community activities, the arts, heritage, and experience-based offerings closely connected to local ways of life.
According to a strategic report on Lam Dong’s cultural and tourism sector through 2026, Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc, Deputy Director of the Lam Dong Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said: “The cultural sector will continue to play a central role in tourism growth by developing programs and activities that promote cultural values and enrich visitor experiences.”
New tourism products are being developed with a focus on differentiation and better visitor experiences
In line with this approach, cultural and artistic initiatives are being systematically developed, combining both traditional and contemporary elements while maintaining strong connections to tourism sites.
In the near future, numerous major events are being organized. Especially, the Lang Biang International Harmony Program is anticipated to stand out, helping to increase the attractiveness of the destination.
In 2025, the province welcomed over 20.7 million visitors, with estimated revenue reaching around VND 56.8 trillion. In 2026, Lam Dong aims to welcome approximately 25.8 million visitors, including 1.5 to 1.8 million international arrivals, with projected revenue of about VND 71.5 trillion.
At the same time, cultural activities are being planned in interconnected series, organized by season and space. This approach is expected to gradually create a continuous cultural flow, generating stable attraction rather than focusing solely on peak periods.

From a business perspective, this approach is seen as closely aligned with market demand. Nguyen Thi Kim Loan, a representative of a tourism company in Lam Dong, said: “Today’s tourists are increasingly interested in cultural experiences. If these activities are carefully designed and developed in depth, businesses will find it easier to build products and improve service quality.”
Seizing Opportunities from Infrastructure
Alongside building a cultural foundation, Lam Dong is demonstrating a proactive approach by leveraging this transitional phase of infrastructure development to improve its system of tourism products and services.

"Cultural activities will be integrated more closely with tourism, with a focus on linking cultural experience programs to tourism routes and destinations, thereby gradually improving access for visitors, especially international tourists."

This guidance suggests that with enhanced flight connectivity, Lam Dong will be prepared not only with its infrastructure but also with a well-developed array of cultural tourism offerings.
In practice, numerous cultural initiatives are presently underway as essential preparatory measures. Community art initiatives, accessible cultural venues, and experiential activities connected to local lifestyles not only satisfy current needs but also provide opportunities for evaluation and improvement, leading to higher quality over time.

Experts say this preparation plays a crucial role. Dinh Van Thang, a tour guide, said: “As transport infrastructure improves, destinations that already have well-developed products—especially distinctive cultural experiences—will be far better positioned to attract and retain visitors.”

In the broader development plan, the strong connection between culture, events, and infrastructure is creating a clear path for Lam Dong’s tourism. When culture is effectively emphasized and sufficiently funded, the area attracts visitors not just for its beautiful landscapes but also for the richness of its values.
Vibrant cultural performances and activities continue to receive strong support and participation from both locals and visitors
With a proactive, well-structured approach and a long-term vision, Lam Dong is gradually turning this preparatory phase into a competitive advantage, ready to seize opportunities alongside the national tourism sector.
Lam Dong will continue to host a variety of significant events throughout the year to attract visitors. Key events include the Da Lat Flower Festival, the Vietnam Ethnic Cultural Festival, Lam Dong Culture – Tourism Day in Ho Chi Minh City, as well as summer events, the April 30 holiday, and activities during the year-end peak season. Additionally, major national and international sports-tourism events such as the Dalat Ultra Trail, the Vietnam Festival (triathlon), Di Linh Outdoor Festival, and Prenn Trail Summit further enhance the province’s reputation as a vibrant and appealing destination.
