Positive Signals Amid Challenges

Despite challenges such as temporary disruptions at Lien Khuong Airport and global uncertainties affecting international travel, Lam Dong’s tourism sector has remained resilient. Rising transport costs and shifting travel patterns have weighed on demand, yet domestic tourism is increasingly becoming a key growth driver. In the first quarter of 2026 alone, the province welcomed more than 1 million visitors, up 22.5% year-on-year — a strong sign of recovery and continued appeal.

Local authorities and businesses, especially in Da Lat, have responded proactively by improving urban landscapes, raising service quality, and reinforcing Lam Dong’s image as a green, safe, and friendly destination.

From Fragmented Growth to Integrated Experiences

A central strategy shift is underway—from isolated development to regional integration and product innovation.

Tourism planners are prioritizing:

  • Destination branding through large-scale festivals and cultural–sports events
  • Formation of new tourism clusters to expand spatial development
  • Diversification of products, including wellness tourism, adventure sports, high-tech agricultural tourism, and the night-time economy

These initiatives aim to extend visitor stays and increase spending, while tapping into emerging segments such as MICE tourism—known for high-value travelers.

Stimulus and Strategic Linkages

The province is rolling out tourism stimulus programs in coordination with industry associations and businesses, offering targeted incentives for domestic travelers to maintain stable demand.

A key long-term pillar is regional connectivity—linking highland destinations with coastal tourism to create multi-experience journeys. This integrated model is expected to unlock new growth momentum.

Driving Sustainable Growth

With synchronized efforts across government, businesses, and localities, Lam Dong is positioning tourism as a strategic growth engine, targeting double-digit expansion.

Expanded event programming, distinctive tourism products, improved infrastructure, and a strong commitment to safety and sustainability are expected to serve as key levers, enabling the province not only to meet its targets but also to raise the overall quality of its tourism industry.
