Four Lam Dong artisans honored for preserving ethnic heritage
The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism has awarded certificates of merit to four artisans in Lam Dong Province in recognition of their outstanding contributions to preserving and promoting the traditional cultural values of the province’s ethnic communities.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism held a national conference to launch its 2026 ethnic cultural tasks and honor village elders, chiefs, artisans, and other respected community figures. More than 300 delegates representing all 54 ethnic groups from 34 provinces and cities attended the event.
Among the attendees, Lam Dong Province was represented by 29 artisans. Notably, four of them were honored with certificates of merit from the ministry for their outstanding contributions to preserving and promoting the traditional ethnic cultural values.
The honorees included Meritorious Artisan Ma Bio of the Churu ethnic group, recognized for her extensive contributions to the community; artisan Ya Thoang of the K’ho ethnic group, honored for efforts to preserve and promote intangible cultural heritage; artisan Touneh Ma Tina of the Churu ethnic group, commended for her dedication to preserving traditional cultural values; and artisan Ma Hong of the K’ho ethnic group, recognized for his role in safeguarding and promoting the community’s intangible cultural heritage.

The conference reaffirms the Party and State’s commitment to ethnic cultural affairs while underscoring the role of artisans and ethnic minority communities in preserving and reviving traditional values. It also aims to raise public awareness and encourage cultural stakeholders to play a more active role in building an advanced Vietnamese culture rooted in national identity.
