More than half a century has passed since the Great Spring Victory of 1975. Lam Dong — a land of highlands, vast blue seas and rich revolutionary traditions — is now rising strongly, continuing its development journey with renewed aspirations, innovative thinking and decisive action.

From historical memory to development momentum

The Great Spring Victory of 1975 embodied the nation’s spirit of independence, self-reliance and aspiration for peace. For Lam Dong, a region that endured profound wartime suffering, national reunification held special significance, opening the door to recovery, reconstruction and growth.

From the difficult years following liberation, the provincial Party organization and people of all ethnic groups in Lam Dong have persevered through immense challenges, gradually transforming their homeland from an underdeveloped locality into a dynamic economic region.

Revived forests, reclaimed wastelands and newly established residential communities all bear witness to the spirit of resilience and faith in the future. The memory of April 30 is not merely a historical reflection, but also a continuing source of inspiration that strengthens determination, solidarity and creativity among Lam Dong’s officials, Party members and citizens today.

Nguyen Van Hoai, a resident of Nam Ban Lam Ha Commune, stated: “Today, we are proud and deeply grateful for the sacrifices of previous generations. Our descendants have continued that heroic tradition through hard work, production and prosperity-building in the new economic homeland of Nam Ban Lam Ha and neighboring communes.”

Dam Xuan Deu, a Party member in Lam Vien - Da Lat Ward, and a former resistance base participant, shared: “The Great Spring Victory of 1975 was not only a glorious milestone in national history, but also a tremendous source of spiritual strength, reinforcing confidence and determination for today’s generations in building and developing their homeland. For Lam Dong, that spirit is being realized through a powerful aspiration for rapid and sustainable growth in a new era.

Expanding development space

If flower-filled Lam Dong is considered the “heart of the highlands,” with strengths in high-tech agriculture, eco-tourism and creative urban development, then blue-sea Lam Dong possesses exceptional advantages in marine economy, renewable energy and seaport infrastructure. Meanwhile, great-forest Lam Dong offers abundant mineral resources, processing industries and expansive development potential.

When these three regions are integrated into a unified development framework, they create a diversified economic space characterized by varied geography, abundant resources and flexible economic structures.

The “forest - highland - sea” synergy will establish a rare, interconnected value chain. High-quality agricultural products from flower-rich Lam Dong and great-forest Lam Dong can undergo deep processing before being directly exported to global markets through logistics systems and seaports. In return, coastal energy, infrastructure and services will strongly support industrial and urban development in the highlands.

Within this new development trajectory, an expanded Lam Dong reflects not only grand ambition but also innovative thinking and the courage to pursue transformative goals. This is how today’s generation continues the spirit of the Great Spring Victory of 1975 — constantly surpassing limits and shaping the future through strategic vision and steadfast will.

Igniting aspiration, securing the future

In its long-term development strategy, Lam Dong is actively broadening its economic space and strengthening regional connectivity with South Central Coast provinces. Improved transportation infrastructure, logistics and supply chains will enable Lam Dong’s goods to access international markets more effectively.

The marine economy is no longer solely a coastal story; it also opens new opportunities for Lam Dong to engage more deeply in global value chains. This strategic move demonstrates an open, integration-oriented development mindset.

Half a century after national reunification, Lam Dong has achieved commendable development milestones. However, the path ahead remains challenging, requiring even greater determination from the entire political system and society.

By upholding the spirit of the Great Spring Victory of 1975, the Party organization, government and people of all ethnic groups in Lam Dong continue to foster strong aspirations for development, embrace innovation, think boldly, and uphold accountability. Every citizen is not merely a beneficiary, but also an active participant in the development process.

This aspiration extends beyond economic growth; it seeks to build a prosperous, civilized and livable Lam Dong — a place where people can fully develop, the environment is protected and cultural identity is preserved.

Though the Great Spring Victory of 1975 has become history, its enduring values remain deeply embedded in every stage of national and local development. For Lam Dong, it serves as a solid foundation for continued advancement and stronger positioning in the new development era.

The objectives set forth in the Resolution of the First Provincial Party Congress for the 2025–2030 term are not only strategic directions, but also a powerful call to inspire determination and aspiration across the Party organization, government and people of Lam Dong: to comprehensively build and develop Lam Dong, with the happiness and prosperity of the people as the ultimate goal.

Looking back on half a century brings even greater pride; looking ahead inspires even stronger determination. Today, Lam Dong continues to write its heroic development epic — an epic of willpower, intellect and an unceasing aspiration to rise.

By 2030, Lam Dong will become a well-developed province and one of the region’s dynamic growth poles in the nation’s new era of development.
