Strong appeal from a series of cultural events

Amid the gentle chill and sunshine of the year’s final days, visitors to central Da Lat can leisurely enjoy fragrant tea or hot coffee by Xuan Huong Lake, immerse themselves in traditional music performances, and interact with beauty queens from many countries. This atmospheric experience is shaped by a chain of distinctive cultural events—subtle yet captivating—that have drawn strong interest from both domestic and international tourists.

At year’s end, audiences were also invited to experience a vibrant multicultural space through the Southeast Asia Gong Festival 2025 and the Global Coffee Heritage Festival 2025. Held for the first time, the coffee festival aims to promote the Lam Dong coffee brand and position Da Lat as a global coffee destination.

Alongside these events, the International Tea Festival 2025, featuring the participation of 80 Miss Cosmo contestants, showcased a wide range of activities honoring the tea industry of Lam Dong and Viet Nam as a whole. Several records were set during the festival, including the largest floral bouquet shaped from 108 flower varieties and the musical performance with the largest gong ensemble, titled “We Are Lam Dong.” Notably, the opening and closing nights each attracted nearly 20,000 spectators, leaving a lasting impression on visitors.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Southeast Asia Gong Festival 2025, Mr Dinh Van Tuan, Vice Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial People’s Committee, emphasized that organizing international-scale cultural events demonstrates the province’s commitment to preserving and promoting national cultural heritage, expanding international exchanges, and developing sustainable cultural tourism—thereby contributing to enhancing Viet Nam’s position on the global cultural map.

Lam Dong is not only renowned for its majestic natural landscapes and mild climate, but also for its rich and diverse cultural identity. This serves as a solid foundation for tourism development through large-scale, creative programs that help unlock local potential and affirm the province’s standing at both regional and international levels.

Strengthening the Lam Dong tourism brand

The year-end series of events in 2025 has created a strong draw for visitors by combining large-scale festivals with promotional campaigns and diversified tour offerings. These efforts have reinforced Lam Dong’s image as a safe destination rich in cultural identity, while stimulating tourism growth. At the same time, tourism sites across the province are gradually developing indigenous experiential spaces, integrating music and cultural heritage into the tourism value chain and the cultural industries.

According to Mr. Nguyen Khac Anh, Head of the Cultural Management Division at the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, these events have not only provided a significant “boost” for Lam Dong tourism and contributed to achieving the province’s 2025 growth targets, but have also reinforced the “Da Lat – Lam Dong” brand as a safe, distinctive and visitor-friendly destination. Through these activities, cultural heritage values, socio-economic achievements and tourism potential have been widely promoted, attracting the attention of both locals and international tourists, while also driving growth in service revenues and demonstrating the tourism sector’s strong recovery following recent natural disasters.

Sharing from the business perspective, Mr. Doan Phi Phung, Director of Lang Biang Land Tourism Services Co., Ltd., noted that unstable weather conditions and negative information about mountain passes had previously affected travelers’ confidence. However, since mid-December, the situation has improved thanks to the positive impact of the festivals and events. Visitor numbers have begun to recover and are expected to surge sharply during the upcoming New Year holiday.

Currently, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism is finalizing plans for the New Year 2026 celebrations across all three regions of the province, aiming to create vibrant, warm and culturally rich festive spaces for local residents and visitors to ring in the New Year.
