Gong Culture Club Launched in Lac Duong Commune
The Lam Dong Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in coordination with local authorities, officially launched the Lac Duong Gong Culture Club, an initiative aimed at preserving indigenous heritage while linking traditional culture with community-based tourism development.

Lac Duong Commune Gong Culture Club was established with 35 members, comprising folk artisans and key contributors to the local traditional cultural and artistic movement.
All members are skilled in performing gong music and xoang dances – signature cultural expressions of the K’ho people living at the foot of Lang Biang Mountain. They are experienced artisans committed to safeguarding and passing down traditional values to younger generations

The formation of the club is part of the project “Preserving and Promoting the Fine Traditional Cultural Values of Ethnic Minorities in Connection with Tourism Development,” under the National Target Program on Socio-economic Development for Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas in 2025.
According to the organizers, the initiative not only helps protect the distinctive cultural identity of the K’ho people but also contributes to promoting traditional festivals and the rich cultural heritage of ethnic minority communities across the Southern Central Highlands.

Beyond preservation efforts, the club is expected to play an active role in integrating traditional music with tourism activities, creating unique cultural experiences for visitors while generating sustainable livelihoods for local residents.
Planned activities include regular training sessions, live performances, and educational programs designed to teach gong music and indigenous cultural knowledge to K’ho youth in the commune. To support these operations, the project has provided members with traditional musical instruments and ethnic costumes, enabling them to perform and showcase their heritage in a more professional and authentic manner.
