Grassroots Initiatives Strengthen Community Solidarity Across Lam Dong

Mobilizing Community Resources for Social Welfare

The Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels has continued to mobilize public donations and community resources to provide practical social welfare support for disadvantaged residents across Lam Dong Province.

One recent example is the completion of a 40-square-meter Great Solidarity House for Ka Doi's family in Loc Thang Hamlet, Bao Lam 1 Commune. The house, valued at VND 100 million, received VND 60 million from the Fund for the Poor, while the remaining cost was covered by the family and contributions from local residents through the village Front Working Committee.

Receiving the new home, Ka Doi said the safe and permanent house would allow her family to focus on work and gradually improve their living conditions. Beyond providing shelter, similar housing projects funded through community contributions across the province demonstrate the spirit of solidarity and mutual assistance while creating opportunities for disadvantaged families to achieve sustainable poverty reduction.

That same spirit was evident in disaster relief efforts following a severe storm that struck Dam Rong 2 Commune in April 2026. The storm affected 11 households, including two homes that were completely destroyed.

Immediately after the disaster, the Vietnam Fatherland Front and local socio-political organizations provided VND 11 million in emergency assistance. In early May, construction began on replacement homes for the two affected families, with each household receiving VND 80 million from the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and an additional VND 40 million from the local government budget.

According to Dinh Huy Thang, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dam Rong 2 Commune, rapid housing assistance enabled affected families to quickly stabilize their lives and resume production.

Ensuring No One Is Left Behind

Beyond long-term livelihood support, the Vietnam Fatherland Front has continued to accompany local residents through a wide range of social welfare programs.

During Vietnam's 2026 National High School Graduation Examination, many localities organized assistance programs for disadvantaged students. Gifts, including drinking water, milk, school supplies and financial support, helped encourage students as they prepared for the country's most important secondary education examination.

In Di Linh Commune, the local Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee provided financial assistance of VND 500,000 each to 71 disadvantaged students from Phan Boi Chau High School – Di Linh, Di Linh High School, and the District Center for Vocational Education and Continuing Education.

Ka Huong, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Di Linh Commune, said that although the support was modest, it reflected the shared commitment of local authorities, the Fatherland Front and the wider community to help students pursue their educational aspirations with greater confidence.

Pham Trieu, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lam Dong Province, said the organization would continue promoting solidarity and social responsibility while mobilizing additional resources to support poor and disadvantaged residents and contribute to local socio-economic development.

Building Stronger Communities from the Grassroots

Through practical initiatives at the grassroots level, the Vietnam Fatherland Front in Lam Dong is implementing the objectives of the 11th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front for the 2026–2031 term, with a strong focus on remaining close to local communities and responding directly to people's needs.

Since 2024, Fatherland Front organizations across the province have mobilized more than VND 300 billion for the Fund for the Poor, supporting the construction and repair of 5,691 homes for disadvantaged households.

During the same period, they also raised more than VND 220 billion to assist communities affected by natural disasters, while mobilizing additional social resources to finance public welfare projects and other social security programs throughout Lam Dong Province.
