Great Solidarity Homes Help Disadvantaged Families Build Better Lives
Funded by the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated housing, hundreds of Great Solidarity Homes are being completed across Lam Dong Province, providing disadvantaged households with safe, sturdy and permanent homes.

In late October, the Quang Hoa Commune Committee for Mobilizing the Fund for the Poor handed over a new house to the family of Tan Thi So, a resident of Hamlet 5. For her, the new home not only provides shelter from the elements but also eases the family's worries whenever the rainy season arrives.
"As the sole breadwinner, I earn just enough to support my three children, so I could never afford to repair our old house. Whenever it rained or storms came, we were all worried because the roof leaked and the house was unsafe. My children and I are overjoyed to receive support for a new home. Now they have a safe, stable place to live, and I can focus on earning a living with greater peace of mind," So shared.

So's family is among more than 370 households benefiting from the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated housing, funded by the remaining funds from the 2025 program allocated by the Lam Dong Provincial Committee for Mobilizing the Fund for the Poor.
In this round, Lam Dong Province will build 355 new houses, with financial support of VND 60 million per house, and repair 21 others, with VND 30 million allocated to each. The initiative aims to help poor and disadvantaged households across the province secure stable housing and gradually improve their living conditions.

Tuy Duc Commune received the largest funding allocation, totaling VND 1.8 billion. As soon as the funds were received, local authorities began construction of houses for disadvantaged households. Of the 30 houses planned, 22 are expected to be completed and handed over to residents in time for the Great National Unity Festival. (November 18, 2026)
The prompt construction of Great Solidarity Homes has helped strengthen social welfare efforts, enabling residents in the border commune of Tuy Duc to gradually stabilize their lives, earn a living with greater peace of mind and work toward escaping poverty.
Dinh Thi Xeo, a resident of Doan Ket Hamlet in Tuy Duc Commune, shared: "My family is very happy to receive support for the construction of a Great Solidarity Home. In addition to the government assistance, we contributed another VND 70 million to build a house of approximately 50 square meters. This is also an opportunity for our family to work toward escaping poverty next year."

To ensure the timely completion of Great Solidarity Homes, local authorities have carefully reviewed and verified the circumstances of beneficiary households, ensuring that support reaches the right recipients through an open and transparent process.
In addition to financial assistance, local authorities have actively mobilized community resources and volunteer labor to help residents build their homes.
Community involvement has not only helped improve the quality of the houses but also fostered a spirit of solidarity and mutual support, giving poor and disadvantaged households greater motivation to overcome difficulties and improve their lives.

Doan Le Anh, Chairman of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Truc Commune, said that providing housing assistance to policy beneficiary families, poor households and those facing difficulties not only helps meet an essential need but also provides a foundation for families to settle down and build stable lives.
According to Anh, each new home reflects the care and support of the Party, the State and the community. These homes not only provide residents with a secure place to live, build happy family lives and strive for a better future, but also serve as a vivid testament to the spirit of mutual support and compassion, a cherished tradition of the Vietnamese people.
Since 2025, the Lam Dong Provincial Fund for the Poor has mobilized more than VND 75 billion to support poor and disadvantaged households.
From the funds remaining from the 2025 program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated housing, the Lam Dong Provincial Committee for Mobilizing the Fund for the Poor has distributed nearly VND 22 billion to 70 communes and wards to support the construction and repair of Great Solidarity Homes for households facing housing difficulties.
Localities receiving substantial funding include Tuy Duc Commune (VND 1.8 billion), Quang Truc Commune (VND 900 million), and La Da, Quang Hoa and Suoi Ket communes (VND 600 million each). Many localities are striving to complete and hand over the homes to residents in time for the Great National Unity Festival on November 18.
