Green Market Pops Up in the Heart of the Coastal City
On January 31, a vibrant “Green Market” officially opened at a homestay on Nguyen Thong Street, Phu Thuy Ward, Lam Dong Province, offering both locals and visitors a refreshing cultural and shopping experience ahead of the Lunar New Year.

Blending creativity, sustainability, and community spirit, the market has quickly become a gathering space for young artisans, eco-conscious consumers, and lovers of handcrafted products.
This year’s event features 26 booths, each bringing distinctive, small-scale, handmade items that give the market its unique charm. From wooden and fabric crafts to gifts made from natural and locally sourced materials, the stalls reflect both artistic creativity and the coastal region’s identity.

In addition to vendors from southeastern Lam Dong, exhibitors from Da Lat and Ho Chi Minh City also joined, adding diversity to the event.
Beyond handicrafts and souvenirs, the market showcases a variety of traditional foods and specialties. Visitors can find Phan Thiet fish sauce, shredded fish floss, fermented shrimp paste, natural cosmetics, and a range of local street foods such as rolled rice paper, stir-fried noodles, and fresh spring rolls.

Interactive workshops further enrich the experience. Guests can try pottery making, knitting, painting, or request spring calligraphy from traditional scholars — activities that offer hands-on engagement rather than simple shopping.
In the evening, the organizers plan a special auction featuring unique products from participating vendors, followed by a live rock music performance, creating a festive and energetic atmosphere for both tourists and residents.

The event is free of charge, designed to encourage green consumption, support local producers, and introduce visitors to traditional crafts and cultural values. More than just a marketplace, it serves as a community-driven initiative promoting a sustainable lifestyle and meaningful local stories.

Organized spontaneously by a group of passionate young people in the province, the Green Market reflects their shared vision of building a healthier, more eco-friendly way of living while supporting local artisans. The Spring edition runs for two days, from January 31 to February 1, 2026.
