Over the past period, the Lam Dong health sector launched two special emulation campaigns to mark the 14th National Party Congress and the 71st anniversary of Vietnamese Doctors’ Day. What results have been achieved so far?

Huynh Thi Phuong Duyen:

On the occasion of the 71st anniversary of Vietnamese Doctors’ Day, on behalf of the leadership of the Department of Health, I would like to extend my best wishes to all officials, civil servants, public employees and workers in the health sector. I sincerely thank the Provincial Party Committee, the People’s Council, the People’s Committee, and the people of Lam Dong for their continued leadership, support and trust.

Responding to the special emulation campaigns celebrating the 14th National Party Congress and Vietnamese Doctors’ Day, the healthcare sector has implemented synchronized solutions centered on solidarity, responsibility, and innovation. These campaigns have been deployed comprehensively from the provincial to the grassroots levels, closely integrated with professional duties, administrative reform, and the enhancement of service quality.

As a result, healthcare quality has continued to improve. Many advanced medical techniques have been effectively deployed at local facilities, reducing referrals to higher-level hospitals and strengthening local treatment capacity. Digital transformation has recorded tangible progress, including gradual completion of electronic health records and streamlined reception and payment procedures, thereby enhancing accessibility for residents. Furthermore, the professionalism and patient-centered ethics of healthcare staff have shown marked improvement.

Notably, under the emulation campaign marking the 71st anniversary of Vietnamese Doctors’ Day, the sector proposed that the Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee award Certificates of Merit to two collectives and two individuals for their outstanding achievements. The Director of the Department of Health also presented Certificates of Commendation to 26 collectives and 60 exemplary individuals in recognition of their dedicated contributions.

Entering 2026, the sector will continue to focus on key priorities: comprehensively improving the quality of medical examination and treatment; consolidating and strengthening grassroots healthcare; enhancing preventive medicine and proactive disease control; accelerating digital transformation and administrative reform; and prioritizing the training, attraction and development of high-quality human resources.

With the guiding principle of “Putting people at the center of service,” Lam Dong’s health sector is committed to building a fair, efficient and sustainable healthcare system that increasingly meets the needs of the population.

Reporter: How is the Lam Dong health sector implementing breakthrough solutions to enhance public health protection and care in line with Resolution No. 72-NQ/TW and directives from the Provincial Party Committee?

Huynh Thi Phuong Duyen:

In implementing Resolution No. 72-NQ/TW and directives from the Provincial Party Committee, the Lam Dong health sector has been deploying synchronized and breakthrough solutions aimed at improving the effectiveness of health protection, care and promotion for the population.

First, we are strengthening the grassroots healthcare system in a comprehensive and sustainable manner. Following the transition of commune-level health stations to the management of local People’s Committees, the Department of Health has continued to provide professional guidance, reinforce staffing, upgrade equipment, and transfer technical expertise. These efforts ensure the effective delivery of primary healthcare services, the management of non-communicable diseases, and the establishment and monitoring of community-based health records."

The sector has set a target of 11 doctors per 10,000 residents. By 2027, we aim for each commune-level health station to have at least four to five doctors. To achieve this, we are prioritizing policy frameworks to attract and develop healthcare personnel. The Department is currently drafting a Resolution for submission to the Provincial People’s Council on policies for recruitment, incentives, postgraduate training, housing support, working conditions and career development for medical professionals in the province.

Alongside professional measures, we are also focused on building a healthcare workforce with strong political integrity, high professional competence, medical ethics and a strong sense of responsibility. We are reinforcing administrative discipline and fostering a transparent, professional and friendly healthcare environment grounded in a citizen-centric approach.

With synchronized solutions and strong political commitment, the Lam Dong health sector is determined to successfully achieve the objectives stipulated in Resolution No. 72-NQ/TW and the Provincial Party Committee’s directives, thereby improving quality of life and increasing public satisfaction with the provincial healthcare system.
