In the first six months of 2026, Lam Dong Province granted 63 Planting Area Codes (PACs) for key crops across the province.

Nearly 154,000 Hectares Meet Sustainable Production Standards

Recent statistics indicate that approximately 154,000 hectares of crops in Lam Dong Province are now grown according to sustainable and safe production standards. This includes certifications such as UTZ, 4C, and Rainforest Alliance (RA), which encompass nearly 126,300 hectares, as well as GAP and similar standards covering 23,600 hectares, and organic farming accounting for 4,050 hectares.

In the first half of 2026, the province issued 63 Planting Area Codes (PACs) that span almost 1,571.4 hectares, in addition to 35 Packing House Codes (PHCs) for facilities totaling 86,480 square meters.

So far, Lam Dong Province has granted 1,467 Planting Area Codes for various crops including durian, dragon fruit, pomelo, coconut, mango, passion fruit, longan, muskmelon, apple, and jackfruit, encompassing nearly 51,158 hectares in total. Furthermore, 540 Packing House Codes have been awarded for facilities with a total factory area of 950,168 square meters.

The province has also provided eight Planting Area Codes specifically for chili and tomato seed production sites run by agricultural export companies in Da Lat, yielding over 4,600 kilograms of seeds per production cycle.

For durian production, in late May and early June, Lam Dong Province continued granting Planting Area Codes (PACs) to enterprises leading production and supply-chain linkages, including nearly 19 hectares in Hamlet 4, Da Huoai Commune, and 33.3 hectares in Hamlet 5, Hoa Ninh Commune.

The province also issued Packing House Codes (PHCs) for facilities covering 2,100 square meters in Hamlet 2, Da Huoai Commune, and 4,000 square meters in Dan Binh Hamlet, Ham Kiem Commune.

According to Nguyen Van Hau, a representative of the company that leads the production and marketing partnership for 23 hectares of durian recently awarded a Planting Area Code (PAC) in Truong Xuan Commune, he and five local farming families decided five to seven years ago to transform over 23 hectares of low-yield crops into new durian varieties.

The company supplied initial investment funds, high-quality seedlings, and continuously improved and shared technical cultivation methods with the participating farmers at every stage of production. Consequently, starting from the fifth year, the durian orchards began yielding at the same time, achieving yields of 18–20 tons per hectare annually. All of the produce that met international quality standards was purchased and marketed by the company under a guaranteed off-take agreement.

Strict Compliance with International Standards

In the first half of 2026, professional teams from the Department of Agriculture and Environment gathered 71 samples of vegetables, roots, and fruits from major production areas for quality assessment. The findings revealed that all samples met the required food safety standards.

Furthermore, during joint inspection campaigns, two additional agricultural product samples were collected and analyzed, with all samples adhering to the safety regulations.

Results from specialized monitoring also showed that the quality of agricultural products in the province continues to be effectively managed. No violations related to chemical residues, antibiotic residues, or food safety indicators subject to the strict regulations of importing countries were found.

Lam Dong Province continues expanding the area of export-certified packing facilities

During the first half of 2026, the Crop Production and Plant Protection Sub-Department reported that agricultural output in Lam Dong Province continued to uphold and increase areas of cultivation accredited under local and global safety and organic standards.

The management of Planting Area Codes (PACs) and Packing House Codes (PHCs) was conducted meticulously, ensuring compliance with traceability requirements while boosting the province’s export capacity and enhancing the reputation of its agricultural products in both domestic and international markets.

“Planting Area Codes and Packing House Codes serve not only as technical standards; they are essential for fostering market trust. Implementing a well-structured and transparent coding system in full accordance with international standards is crucial for enhancing competitiveness, drawing investment into cultivation areas, and broadening official export opportunities. This, in turn, boosts economic value, elevates product quality, and fortifies the standing of Lam Dong’s agricultural products in an increasingly interconnected global market,” stated Tran Duc Thien, Deputy Director of the provincial Crop Production and Plant Protection Sub-Department.
