K’Tuyen, Lam Dong’s Sporting Gem

Natural Talent for Bodybuilding

K’Tuyen caught the attention of coaches from the bodybuilding sector of the Lam Dong Sports Training and Competition Center during local grassroots and school sports events. After receiving expert guidance and training, K’Tuyen developed a strong passion for the sport at a young age. He was subsequently chosen for the youth team, practicing alongside numerous weightlifting and bodybuilding competitors from his hometown of Di Linh.

"Youth athletes from Di Linh have remarkable potential for bodybuilding and weightlifting. From the very first moment we began working with them, we instantly recognized that this was a treasure trove for Lam Dong bodybuilding," recalled Nguyen Van Tuyen, former director of the provincial sports training and competition center.

K’Tuyen swiftly acclimated to the environment of professional training, immersing himself in demanding physical conditioning routines, muscle-building exercises, and the strict diet required of bodybuilders. Right from the start, his innate ability was evident.

“K’Tuyen showed exceptional muscular balance. Once he began his training, his potential became abundantly clear,” recalled Nguyen Van Tuyen.

As he began his professional bodybuilding career, K’Tuyen attained remarkable success. From local contests to regional and national events, he progressively made his way to international competitions. At the Asian and Southeast Asian bodybuilding championships, he captivated judges and audiences with his impressive physique and commanding presence.

In late 2025, K’Tuyen represented Vietnam’s national bodybuilding team and won a silver medal in the Men’s Bodybuilding 75kg category at both the Asian and Southeast Asian Championships held in Thailand. The achievement earned the young athlete a Certificate of Merit from the Lam Dong provincial authorities.

Discipline and Passion

“We must adhere to rigorous training regimens and very strict dietary restrictions, particularly before competitions. The meal plans are so demanding that most people would find them hard to sustain, sometimes even entirely cutting out salt. Even though we appear muscular, our bodies can become frail and more susceptible to illness and fatigue,” he expressed. For K’Tuyen and many bodybuilders, dedication and enthusiasm are crucial to remaining devoted to the sport.

At the 19th Southeast Asian Bodybuilding Championship in 2025, competing as part of Vietnam’s national team, K’Tuyen earned another silver medal and earned praise from judges for his muscle development, symmetry, and exceptional stage presence. The young athlete from Lam Dong played a vital role in the national team's achievements.

Le Tri Dung, head of the Lam Dong Sports Training and Competition Center, praised K’Tuyen as one of the top bodybuilding athletes from Lam Dong. "K’Tuyen, born in 2001, is still very young, yet he has achieved an impressive number of accomplishments both nationally and internationally. He is now officially acknowledged as a national-level bodybuilding master, and we believe that his future is even brighter," he stated.

K’Tuyen is presently training for the 20th Southeast Asian Bodybuilding Championship in 2026, which will be held in Yangon, with the aim of bringing honor to Lam Dong bodybuilding and Vietnamese athletics.
