Khanh Hoa to Lead Investment in Nha Trang–Da Lat Expressway
Lam Dong’s People’s Council has officially approved a proposal designating Khanh Hoa Province as the lead authority for the Nha Trang–Da Lat Expressway project, a key inter-regional infrastructure initiative.

At its first session for the 2026–2031 term, the provincial People’s Council endorsed the plan allowing Khanh Hoa’s People’s Committee to act as the competent authority, while Lam Dong contributes state budget capital under a public-private partnership (PPP) model with a BOT (Build–Operate–Transfer) contract.
This approach aligns with current regulations for inter-provincial projects and is expected to streamline coordination, accelerate implementation, and enhance resource mobilization.

A Strategic Inter-Regional Corridor
The Nha Trang – Da Lat expressway is identified as a nationally significant transport project that will play a vital role in connecting the Central Highlands with the South Central Coast, thereby boosting socio-economic development and strengthening national defense and security.
The project spans approximately 99 km, including:
- Nha Trang – Da Lat section: over 80 km
- Da Lat – Lien Khuong section: 18 km
It is designed as a four-lane expressway with speeds of 80–100 km/h.
Total preliminary investment is estimated at VND 25.058 trillion, financed under a PPP-BOT model combining state budget and private sector capital.
Lam Dong is expected to contribute around VND 768 billion in the 2026–2030 period, primarily for land clearance, resettlement support, and construction of temporary infrastructure within the province.

Driving Growth and Connectivity
The project will be divided into sub-components, so that each locality can oversee implementation in its respective area, helping ensure efficiency and timely completion.
Delegates emphasized that early deployment of the expressway would mark a major breakthrough in regional connectivity—significantly reducing travel time between Nha Trang and Da Lat while expanding development space across the Central Highlands and South Central Coast.
The expressway is also expected to strengthen investment attraction and accelerate growth in tourism, logistics, and other key economic sectors.
Lam Dong’s People’s Council has urged the provincial government to closely coordinate with Khanh Hoa and relevant ministries to finalize legal procedures and promptly submit the project for higher-level approval.
