Lam Dong Accelerates Export Growth, Targets $3.59 Billion Milestone
Entering the peak period of late 2026, Lam Dong’s goods exports are forecast to post positive growth, helping the province maintain existing markets and boost product sales.

Exports Show Signs of Recovery
Lam Dong’s export performance showed signs of improvement in July, with export revenue totaling around US$301.9 million, an increase of nearly 26% compared to June 2026 and a rise of 9.18% from the previous year.
However, in the first half of the year, the province’s overall export revenue was estimated at US$1.62 billion, down 2.3% year on year and falling short of the growth target of US$1.68 billion established in the province’s growth plan.
The Department of Industry and Trade explained that export turnover in the first half of the year did not meet expectations primarily due to a significant drop in the average export prices of alumina and aluminum hydroxide, which were just US$322.5 per tonne compared to an average of US$574.1 per tonne in 2025.
Additionally, exports of garments and textile products decreased as the recovery of consumer demand in key import markets was slower than anticipated, and new orders remained limited.
Seafood exports faced challenges due to a lack of raw materials necessary for processing exports. Even though vegetable and fruit exports increased year on year, the growth still fell short of expectations.
With strong growth in the first month of the second half of 2026, the province's total goods export revenue has now reached an estimated US$1.93 billion, up 4.49% year on year. Furthermore, eight of the 12 key export product categories experienced growth.
In particular, coffee beans accounted for US$490.9 million, reflecting a 39.2% rise, while garments and textile products achieved US$231.3 million, showing a 1.95% increase. Footwear exports were estimated at US$107.4 million, which is up 54.16%; vegetable and fruit exports reached US$94.6 million, rising by 20.77%; and pepper exports amounted to US$89.4 million, increasing by 62.55%.
According to the monitoring conducted by local authorities, it has been determined that production, processing, and export activities in the province have remained consistent. Simultaneously, multiple businesses are taking steps to broaden their operations and pursue deep-processing projects to enhance the added value of Lam Dong’s key products.
For instance, Bazan Dak Nong One Member Co., Ltd. has made investments in a cacao and chocolate processing facility, aiming at markets abroad such as China, South Korea, and Japan. Furthermore, Thai An Food Agricultural Products Processing JSC is actively working to enter international markets and has already secured its initial direct export orders to China.

Year-End Peak Season Offers Positive Outlook
Bien Tan Tai, the Deputy Director of the Lam Dong Department of Industry and Trade, said that the province's export performance is anticipated to improve in the second half of 2026, bolstered by seasonal influences impacting key sectors. During the third quarter of 2026, the fishing, aquaculture, and seafood processing industries will reach their peak period, creating optimal conditions for a rise in seafood exports.
Currently, this is also the primary harvest period for durian, which helps enhance exports of fruits and vegetables. In the last quarter of 2026, several vital agricultural commodities, such as coffee and rubber latex, will commence their harvesting and processing phases. This time frame also aligns with the preparations for holidays and the 2027 New Year festivities in major markets like Europe and the United States, increasing the demand for imported food, beverages, and processed agricultural goods. This situation will present opportunities for local businesses to elevate exports, increase orders, and boost export revenue.
To enhance the efficiency of goods exports, local authorities are focusing on equipping businesses with insights and projections about economic trends and market conditions in crucial product sectors. Collaborating with the Vietnam Industry and Trade Information Center under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Lam Dong Department of Industry and Trade has recently provided relevant information on import and export markets for textiles, garments, footwear, seafood, dragon fruit, durian, and flowers, assisting businesses in formulating suitable production and business strategies for the final months of the year.

The Vietnam Industry and Trade Information Center has notably projected that the country’s footwear exports will continue to thrive as importers ramp up their orders in anticipation of the busy year-end shopping season across major markets.
The United States will continue to be the key driving force, whereas the EU remains Vietnam’s second-largest destination for footwear exports. There are also chances to boost dragon fruit exports to promising markets, while fresh flower exporters need to prepare strategic orders for the upcoming holidays, including Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, especially for key markets like Japan, Australia, South Korea, and the EU.
The third quarter of 2026 will be the peak durian harvest season in the Central Highlands, including Lam Dong Province. This is the only region in the world with abundant durian production during this late season. Durian export turnover is forecast to reach approximately US$1-1.2 billion in the third quarter of 2026, making the largest contribution to the total fruit and vegetable export turnover for the year…
Forecast by the Vietnam Industry and Trade Information Center, Ministry of Industry and Trade
The province is anticipated to enable direct links between international partners and local manufacturers and exporters, aiding in the expansion and diversification of export markets. These initiatives will support the achievement of the 2026 goods export objective of US$3.59 billion, representing an 11.94% increase from the previous year, while establishing a foundation for sustained double-digit growth in 2027, with a forecasted target exceeding US$3.98 billion, up more than 11% from this year's estimated amount.
Lam Dong’s goods are currently exported to 92 countries and territories. Asian markets account for 60.6% of total exports, followed by Europe with 26%, the Americas with around 7%, Africa with 5%, and Oceania with 1.4%.
