Lam Dong Accelerates Final Revisions to Provincial Master Plan
Lam Dong authorities are entering the final stage of revising the province’s master plan for the 2021–2030 period, with a vision toward 2050, as local leaders push to complete strategic planning documents aimed at supporting future economic growth and major investment projects.

On May 27, Nguyen Hong Hai, a member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee, chaired a working session with relevant departments and agencies to review progress in incorporating feedback and finalizing adjustments to the Lam Dong Provincial Master Plan for the 2021–2030 period, with a vision to 2050.
At the meeting, the Department of Finance reported that the proposed adjustments had been developed in line with the country's socio-economic development strategy and the National Master Plan.

In the future, Lam Dong's socio-economic space will be organized around seven development sub-regions, 18 growth clusters, six economic corridors, and six key zones.
The master plan also sets orientations for developing a system of urban, rural, and functional zones that is resilient to climate change and aligned with Lam Dong's role and position in the South Central Coast and Central Highlands regions.

At the meeting, representatives of departments, sectors, and agencies focused their feedback on finalizing adjustments to the Provincial Master Plan. Several departments and sectors said Duc Trong’s development model should be further clarified, with an orientation toward building a dynamic urban area. Accordingly, Duc Trong should develop into a multi-functional urban center rather than a purely administrative center lacking drivers for socio-economic growth.

For the adjusted Provincial Master Plan, solutions should be identified to ensure the economical and efficient use of land resources. Land allocation for industries and sectors must be aligned with the province’s potential, resources, labor force, and technical infrastructure. The adjustments should also clearly define development orientations for urbanization, industry, tourism, transport infrastructure, energy, digital transformation, and other key areas

Concluding the meeting, Nguyen Hong Hai, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, emphasized that adjustments to the Provincial Master Plan are now entering the final stage. As time is limited, he asked all departments, sectors, and units to stay focused, act decisively, and complete the adjustments on schedule.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested that departments and sectors continue reviewing data and appendices within their respective fields. On that basis, each unit must submit an official document to the Department of Finance evaluating and clearly explaining the feasibility or infeasibility of items in the appendices and drafts under its responsibility.
The Department of Agriculture and Environment was instructed to urgently complete supplementary appendices related to common mineral mines and clarify security land allocations within the province’s land-use plan.

The Department of Finance was assigned to consolidate and fully incorporate feedback from ministries, agencies, socio-political organizations, the public, members of the appraisal council and the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics in accordance with legal requirements.
