Lam Dong is accelerating preparations for the 11th Da Lat Flower Festival, with agencies reviewing programs, funding and event plans ahead of the year-end festival.

On August 22, Dinh Van Tuan, Member of the Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee, chaired a meeting with departments, agencies, local authorities and relevant organizations to review preparations for the 11th Da Lat Flower Festival 2026.

Overview of the meeting

According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, as of August 21, agencies, local authorities and organizations assigned to lead 11 main programs and 25 supporting programs had proactively developed plans, surveyed existing conditions, coordinated with partners, prepared organizational plans and budget estimates, and mobilized socialized resources.

Overall, preparations are progressing in line with Plan No. 9104 issued by the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee. However, several issues still need to be finalized, particularly event organization plans, designs, funding and socialization mechanisms, to ensure timely implementation during the final months of the year.

For the opening and closing ceremonies, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism proposed that the Head of the Organizing Committee invite experts in culture, arts and events from inside and outside the province to submit ideas.

The initiative is intended to provide a broader basis for selecting high-quality scripts and ensure that the ceremonies are organized on an appropriate scale and to professional standards, creating distinctive highlights and wider public appeal.

Discussions focused on completing plans for floral spaces, increasing participation by businesses, flower growers and local residents, and promoting socialization of festival programs and activities.

Participants also called for reviews of venues, infrastructure, traffic arrangements and other conditions needed to serve visitors during the festival.

Accelerating implementation and mobilizing resources

Concluding the meeting, Dinh Van Tuan said most major and supporting programs had completed their planning and budget preparation and were moving forward with other organizational requirements.

Several local authorities had also proactively reviewed and adjusted program content to suit actual conditions, concentrate resources and improve organizational effectiveness.

The provincial leadership assigned the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to continue monitoring and consolidating the implementation of programs and activities and periodically report to the provincial People's Committee and the Festival Organizing Committee.

The department was also asked to coordinate with relevant agencies and local authorities to proactively propose adjustments and additions when necessary.

However, the remaining preparation period is limited, while some programs are still being planned or awaiting funding approval.

Dinh Van Tuan therefore asked agencies and local authorities to urgently accelerate implementation and finalize plans, scripts, organizational arrangements, technical designs, budget estimates and related documents for approval by competent authorities.

He emphasized that socialized funding must be mobilized early, proactively and effectively.

The mobilization of socialized resources must be carried out early, proactively and substantively. Departments, agencies and local authorities assigned specific tasks must urgently work with businesses, organizations, individuals and sponsors to agree on the arrangements and forms of participation.
