Lam Dong Province is speeding up flower planting and urban beautification projects in central Da Lat ahead of the 11th Da Lat Flower Festival in 2026.

Preparing Da Lat for the 2026 Flower Festival

On the morning of May 29, Dinh Van Tuan, Member of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial People’s Committee, chaired a meeting to discuss the implementation of plans for flower planting and landscape improvement in central Da Lat ahead of the 11th Da Lat Flower Festival in 2026.

According to the plan, the festival will be organized at the provincial level and will take place mainly in late December 2026. However, supporting activities and events will run from May through the end of the year to create a vibrant atmosphere and attract visitors.

The festival’s main venues will be located in central wards, including Xuan Huong – Da Lat, Lam Vien – Da Lat, Cam Ly – Da Lat, Xuan Truong – Da Lat, and Lang Biang – Da Lat. Other localities across the province are also expected to organize activities suited to their own conditions and strengths.

Expanding Flower Spaces and Urban Decoration

During the meeting, departments and local authorities discussed plans to renovate landscapes around Xuan Huong Lake, Prenn Pass, central roads, and public spaces.

The province also plans to increase flower and tree planting, install decorative mini-landscapes, and add artistic lighting systems to create highlights for the Flower Festival.

Alongside urban beautification efforts, localities and agencies are preparing a wide range of community activities, including art streets, public flower spaces, light streets, street art performances, cultural and culinary festivals, flower exhibitions, competitions, and experiential activities for residents and tourists.

Delegates also discussed plans to mobilize social resources for the festival, encouraging businesses, organizations, and individuals to sponsor funds, flowers, ornamental plants, and decorative items in order to reduce pressure on the state budget.

Promoting a Province-Wide Festival Atmosphere

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman Dinh Van Tuan requested departments, sectors, local authorities, associations, and organizations to continue implementing assigned tasks while ensuring progress and quality in preparation for the festival.

Localities were instructed to review key landscape axes and major roads to develop urban beautification plans, expand flower streets and flower spaces, and select suitable locations for planting flowers and ornamental trees, especially in central areas, along transport routes, and at tourist destinations.

Authorities were also asked to strengthen coordination in urban renovation, environmental sanitation, repair of infrastructure and transport routes, embankment upgrades, lake dredging, and other festival-related works.

At the same time, Lam Dong will continue promoting social participation by organizing competitions, cultural and artistic activities, flower spaces, and lighting displays.

The province also plans to launch the campaign “Every Resident Plants Flowers, Every Household Grows Flowers” to create a festive atmosphere throughout Da Lat and surrounding areas while enhancing urban beauty and attracting more visitors to the city.
