Lam Dong adopts a multi-polar development model
A resolution on revisions to Lam Dong’s 2021 - 2030 provincial master plan, with a vision to 2050, was recently approved by the 11th Provincial People’s Council at its third session. The plan outlines a strategic development framework for the post-merger province based on a multipolar, multi-corridor, and multifunctional model aligned with a new growth strategy.

The revised plan provides a favorable foundation for localities across the province to develop socio-economic strategies tailored to their strengths, with a particular focus on attracting investment.
Following the Provincial People’s Council’s approval of revisions to Lam Dong’s 2021–2030 provincial master plan, with a vision to 2050, newly established communes, wards and special administrative zones have begun implementing the plan to promote socio-economic development while safeguarding national defense and security.
By reorganizing its development space, Lam Dong aims to maximize its natural advantages and combine the strengths of its highlands, flower-growing regions, and coastline to create new momentum for growth.

As one of the localities included in the proposed Southern Lam Dong Coastal Economic Zone, Phuoc Hoi Ward has moved quickly to implement the revised provincial plan in support of sustainable local development.
Benefiting from its proximity to the Son My Energy Port and an increasingly connected transport network, the ward is accelerating preparations for the La Gi - Phuoc Hoi inter-ward master plan. The plan prioritizes the development of coastal areas, leveraging existing advantages to expand trade, services, and tourism.
“In the western and northwestern parts of the ward, we are focusing on the transformation of rural areas into urban zones, covering approximately 726 hectares. The plan includes social welfare facilities, urban housing, commercial areas, and production zones, helping expand urban space while supporting the development of industrial-residential communities in line with the province’s development strategy,” said Huynh Thanh Quoc Viet, Chairman of the Phuoc Hoi Ward People’s Committee

In Son My Commune, Vice Chairman of the Commune People’s Committee Dang Thanh Cong said the locality would promptly incorporate the revised provincial plan into its master planning process.
The commune will also update its land-use planning in line with current development needs and the vision to 2050. The goal is to attract financially capable investors, accelerate economic growth, create jobs, and make better use of coastal land resources, particularly areas adjacent to industrial zones

As part of its strategy to expand development space, Lam Dong is prioritizing the growth of its marine economy, with the energy port in the south identified as a key driver of industrial development.
According to Nguyen Ngoc Phong, Chairman of the Tra Tan Commune People’s Committee, the approval of the revised provincial plan by the Lam Dong People’s Council provides an important legal foundation for local authorities to formulate development plans aligned with the province’s overall strategy, particularly in the industrial sector

Meanwhile, Tra Tan Commune Chairman Nguyen Ngoc Phong said the early implementation of the revised provincial plan would create new development opportunities for the locality.
The commune is expected to advance plans for an industrial park spanning more than 1,000 hectares, while also developing additional industrial clusters to attract investment, create jobs, and support economic growth.

The timely implementation of the revised provincial plan is expected to play a key role in shaping Lam Dong’s new development framework and advancing sustainable growth across the province.
