Lam Dong Advances to the 2026 National Second Division Finals

Group Leaders Finish Qualification Campaign in Style

Entering the final Group B fixture, Lam Dong had already secured qualification for the 2026 National Second Division Finals. Nevertheless, the team remained determined to preserve its position at the top of the standings, which could provide a more favorable matchup in the next stage.

For Mekong Can Tho, the outcome carried little significance. The club had already been confirmed at the bottom of Group B and would be relegated to the National Third Division next season regardless of the result. Earlier this year, Lam Dong defeated Mekong Can Tho 3-0 in the first-leg meeting at Da Lat Stadium on April 25.

With both sides playing under minimal pressure, the match developed into an open contest. The decisive moment arrived in the 43rd minute when Huynh Quang Thai scored the game's only goal, giving Lam Dong a 1-0 victory on the road.

The win lifted Lam Dong to 25 points from 12 matches, ending the qualification phase with a record of seven wins, four draws, and one defeat.

Truong Giang Gia Dinh Claims Second Finals Berth

In Group B on June 7, Truong Giang Gia Dinh drew 1-1 away against Quang Ngai.

The result left both teams level on 22 points at the end of the qualification stage. However, Truong Giang Gia Dinh secured second place thanks to a superior head-to-head record, having defeated Quang Ngai 3-0 in their earlier meeting.

As a result, Truong Giang Gia Dinh joined Lam Dong as the second Group B representative in the finals.

Final Group B standings saw Tay Ninh finish fourth with 17 points, followed by Dak Lak with 12 points and Vinh Long with 11 points. Mekong Can Tho ended the campaign last with six points and was relegated.

In Group A, Tre Ha Noi topped the table with 24 points, while Hue finished second with 22 points. Both teams advanced to the finals, while Tre Phu Dong finished bottom and was relegated.

Promotion to the First Division at Stake

The 2026 National Second Division Finals will take place from June 13 to June 16 at Quy Nhon Stadium in Gia Lai Province.

The semifinal matchups have been confirmed:

• Tre Ha Noi ( Ha Noi Youth) (Group A winners) vs. Truong Giang Gia Dinh (Group B runners-up)
• Lam Dong (Group B winners) vs. Hue (Group A runners-up)

Both semifinals will be played on June 13.

The two winning teams will earn promotion to the 2026–2027 National First Division Championship, moving one step closer to Vietnam's professional football elite.
