Lam Dong Aims to Develop New Sports Tourism Products
On the evening of May 18, Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee member and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Dinh Van Tuan chaired a meeting to review coordination plans for cultural, sports, and tourism activities across the province.

Representatives of the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, along with delegates from ICV Cultural Identity Development Co., Ltd., participated in the meeting.
Regarding the Flyboard event, representatives of ICV Cultural Identity Development Co., Ltd. described Flyboard as an extreme sport that utilizes water pressure to create thrust, allowing athletes to soar and execute aerial performances above water bodies.
According to the company, the sport merges technical expertise, cutting-edge technology, and performance art, and has previously taken place in countries like Qatar, the UAE, and the United States. Nevertheless, the Flyboard World Championship has yet to be hosted in Vietnam.

The company expressed its intention to collaborate on researching and developing plans for Lam Dong to become the first locality in Vietnam to host an international Flyboard competition. This initiative aims not only to highlight cultural, sports, and tourism activities but also to enhance the province’s image among domestic and international visitors.
According to the company’s proposal, the event is expected to attract top Flyboard athletes from around the world, combining sports competitions with light technology displays, music performances, and various water sports experiences.
The event is projected to garner international media coverage, boost the high-end tourism sector, and gradually develop a water sports ecosystem that makes effective use of Lam Dong’s natural landscape advantages.

At the meeting, participants discussed possibilities for event coordination, safety and security measures, technical infrastructure conditions, communication and promotional plans, as well as orientations for developing new tourism and sports products to enhance Lam Dong’s attractiveness as a destination.

He noted that the proposal is in line with the essence of Resolution No. 80-NQ/TW, which emphasizes the importance of building and nurturing an advanced Vietnamese culture that is deeply connected to national identity, while fostering innovation and the creation of cultural and sports products linked to tourism and entertainment.
He urged the relevant departments and agencies to work together in investigating and thoroughly evaluating all necessary factors and conditions, while analyzing the event’s feasibility in relation to the province’s goals for tourism, culture, and sports development.
The development of a new sport should be studied in a way that creates a comprehensive ecosystem, while effectively utilizing the locality’s terrain advantages, natural landscapes, and potential conditions for water sports development.
