Lam Dong and Bolykhamxay boost comprehensive cooperation
On the afternoon of March 17, the Standing Committee of the Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee held a courtesy meeting with a delegation from Bolykhamxay Province (Laos) during the delegation’s working visit to the province.

Attending the meeting, on the Lam Dong side were Y Thanh Ha Nie Kdam, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee and Head of the province’s National Assembly Deputies Delegation; Luu Van Trung, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council; Pham Thi Phuc, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lam Dong Province, along with leaders of provincial departments and agencies.

The Bolykhamxay delegation was led by Dr. Sonthanu Thammavong, Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Bolykhamxay Provincial Party Committee. The delegation also included leaders of the provincial People’s Council, local authorities and representatives of various departments and sectors.
The meeting took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere. The two sides exchanged views on their socio-economic development and reviewed the outcomes of past cooperation, while agreeing to further promote bilateral collaboration in the coming period.

Welcoming the delegation, Lam Dong Provincial Party Secretary Y Thanh Ha Nie Kdam described the visit as an important milestone in relations between the two localities.

Cooperation across various sectors has continued to deliver positive results. In agriculture, the two provinces have promoted the application of technology while focusing on training and technical transfer.
Education has remained a key area of cooperation, with Da Lat University training many students from Bolykhamxay Province. People-to-people diplomacy has also been maintained, helping strengthen ties between the two provinces’ residents.

Bolykhamxay Provincial Party Secretary Sonthanu Thammavong highly appreciated the results of cooperation between the two localities and expressed his impression of Lam Dong’s development achievements.

Bolykhamxay leaders highly appreciate Lam Dong’s attention and support in recent years and hope to further expand bilateral cooperation across a range of sectors.

During the visit, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lam Dong Province and the Lao Front for National Development of Bolykhamxay Province signed a memorandum of cooperation.

The two sides agreed to increase delegation exchanges, promote people-to-people exchanges and organize activities to exchange experience in mass mobilization and strengthening national unity.

The two provinces will also coordinate in supporting students studying abroad and maintain a regular dialogue mechanism to review cooperation outcomes and set directions for future collaboration.
The memorandum will remain in effect for five years, providing a foundation for further strengthening the friendship between the people of the two provinces.
