Lam Dong and Chuncheon Strengthen Cooperation Across Multiple Sectors
On December 23, Mr Nguyen Minh, Member of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial People’s Committee, hosted a courtesy meeting with a delegation from Chuncheon City (Gangwon Province, Republic of Korea) led by Vice Mayor Hyeon Jun-Tae.
Speaking on behalf of provincial leaders, Mr Nguyen Minh expressed his appreciation for the visit and highlighted Lam Dong’s potential and strengths following recent administrative consolidation. He emphasized that, building on the friendship between the two countries, Lam Dong and Chuncheon will continue to deepen their close and long-standing partnership.
Chuncheon and the former Da Lat City established relations in 2016 and have maintained sister-city agreements since 2019, collaborating in tourism, culture, and economic development.
Mr Nguyen Minh expressed hope that both sides will enhance cooperation in the coming period, capitalizing on new opportunities created by Lam Dong’s expanded administrative boundaries. He noted that the coastal area, including the former Phan Thiet City, already enjoys cooperation with Korean partners. The Park Golf project at NovaWorld Phan Thiet (Tien Thanh Ward), implemented with Korean participation, is expected to attract more Korean visitors to Lam Dong.

Vice Mayor Hyeon Jun-Tae thanked Lam Dong’s leaders for their warm hospitality and reaffirmed that bilateral cooperation will continue to grow. In the near future, both sides plan to expand joint programs in agriculture, tourism, and public administration as they approach the 10-year anniversary (2016–2026) of their partnership.
On this occasion, the two sides exchanged invitations, letters of appreciation, and commemorative gifts, symbolizing the strong ties between the localities. The Chuncheon delegation also donated VND 100 million to support residents affected by recent storms and floods in Lam Dong.
