The investor has committed to completing construction within two years. The aircraft apron will feature six parking positions capable of accommodating Code E wide-body and Code C narrow-body aircraft, supported by an integrated taxiway system.
A 45-meter-tall air traffic control tower, equipped with an Automated Weather Observing System (AWOS) and advanced navigation aids, will support safe flight operations in a wide range of weather and operating conditions.
Designed to serve both domestic and international flights, the airport is expected to open the way for direct international arrivals to Mui Ne–Phan Thiet.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Ho Van Muoi, emphasized: “The Phan Thiet Airport project – Civil Aviation Component is not merely a transport infrastructure project, but a strategic development project that will strengthen Lam Dong Province’s connectivity with major economic centers at home and abroad, while creating spillover momentum for the Central Highlands, the South-Central Coast and the Southern Key Economic Region.”

Lam Dong Province will continue to direct relevant agencies to enhance accountability, coordinate proactively, resolve bottlenecks, and streamline administrative procedures to ensure the project is implemented smoothly.
The Chairman also urged investors and contractors to fully mobilize financial resources, personnel, machinery, and equipment; carry out construction in a professional and systematic manner; and ensure technical quality, labor safety, and environmental sanitation to complete the project at the earliest possible date.
Strategic Driver for Socio-Economic Growth
The 18,000-square-meter passenger terminal is designed as both a functional facility and an architectural landmark inspired by Cham culture. Its design is deeply imbued with the philosophy of “Soul of Fire – Aspiration to Rise.”
The terminal’s 13-layer vaulted roof carries a strong symbolic message. Twelve layers represent a complete cycle, while the 13th symbolizes a transition into a new journey, a new era, and a renewed aspiration to rise. The arches are stylized into upward-facing triangular forms, evoking fire and vitality. As light filters through the stepped structural layers, the space creates a flowing rhythm between light and shadow, solidity and openness.
Phan Thiet Civil Airport is expected to attract a new wave of investment in resort real estate, commercial services, logistics, and aviation services.

The project is set to create thousands of jobs while making substantial contributions to Lam Dong’s socio-economic development.
Moreover, the airport will serve as a strategic component of the South Central Coast aviation network, strengthening connectivity with Vietnam’s key southern economic region.
