As Phu Quy Island enters its most beautiful season of the year, tourism has been bustling since late March. Tours and transport routes to the island are busy, with visitors booking ferry tickets and accommodation well in advance, mainly from Ho Chi Minh City and southern provinces.
The entire special zone has 69 hotels and guesthouses with 850 rooms, along with more than 100 homestays. However, during this year’s April 30 - May 1 holiday, especially from April 25 to May 1, all rooms were fully booked.”
In addition to ferry tickets and accommodation, tours and diving services in Phu Quy Special Zone are also fully booked and unable to take more guests. This is a positive signal for the tourism sector, affirming the quality and appeal of the destination.

To ensure visitor safety, authorities in Phu Quy Special Zone have required local agencies and tourism operators to strengthen management, search and rescue efforts at tourist sites, maintain environmental sanitation, and further promote the island’s tourism image.

This year’s holiday, which lasts several days, coincides with the island’s most beautiful season. Calm seas, sunny weather, and crystal-clear waters have made Phu Quy Island a top choice for visitors from Ho Chi Minh City, Khanh Hoa Province, and other southern provinces.
Many homestay owners in Phu Quy Special Zone said all rooms have been fully booked since early April. “This year, bookings came much earlier than usual. Some days, we received dozens of calls asking for rooms but had to turn them down due to full occupancy,” shared Ngo Minh Pho.

Da Lat bustles without overcrowding

During this holiday, many travelers tend to choose suburban and outlying destinations to enjoy open, nature-friendly spaces.

At Xuan Huong Lake and central streets such as Tran Quoc Toan, 3 Thang 2, and Nguyen Van Cu, traffic volume has increased during morning and late afternoon hours. However, vehicles have still moved smoothly, with no prolonged congestion as seen in previous peak seasons.

Notably, traffic pressure in central areas has eased as more visitors choose to stay and explore suburban and surrounding areas, helping distribute traffic flow and reduce localized congestion.
According to Bui Xuan Thanh, Deputy Head of the Traffic Police Team in Xuan Huong Ward, the number of private vehicles, especially cars from other provinces, has increased significantly during this holiday. This indicates that most visitors are traveling by road while Lien Khuong Airport is temporarily closed.

However, thanks to early and proactive traffic management plans, traffic on central roads in Da Lat has remained smooth, with no prolonged or widespread congestion.

According to Bui Xuan Thanh, authorities deployed officers at key intersections, roundabouts, and major routes leading into the city center, while organizing traffic flow from a distance and guiding vehicles efficiently to support both residents and tourists throughout the holiday.
Patrols, traffic control, parking management, and the handling of violations have also been strengthened, helping maintain order and road safety while reinforcing Da Lat’s image as a safe and friendly destination for visitors.

In addition to reports from authorities, many tourists said they chose Da Lat for this holiday because they wanted to relax, enjoy peaceful surroundings, and enjoy its cool climate.

Nguyen Minh Tuan shared: “My family chose to travel to Da Lat by private car for a more flexible schedule. This year, it’s not as crowded as we expected. Getting around is quite convenient, with no long traffic jams, so the trip feels more relaxing and we can visit more places than in previous years.”

Meanwhile, Le Thi Hong Nhung said: “Instead of staying in the city center, we chose accommodations in suburban areas to enjoy a quieter, nature-friendly environment. The attractions are also less crowded, which is ideal for families with young children.”

According to observations, thousands of people gather daily at beaches such as Doi Duong Beach, Thuong Chanh Beach (Phan Thiet Ward), Bau Trang Mini, Tam Tan Cape, and the Doi Duong, Binh Tan area in La Gi, creating a vibrant and bustling atmosphere. At peak times, the Doi Duong, Binh Tan area alone welcomes up to 5,000 visitors for sightseeing and swimming.

Not only local tourists, but also visitors from Ho Chi Minh City, Khanh Hoa Province, Tay Ninh Province and other areas have chosen the beaches of Lam Dong Province as their holiday destination.

Public beaches have become familiar spaces for recreation and relaxation, attracting families and groups of friends seeking to unwind and cool off.

The distribution of visitors between central and suburban areas, as well as between urban and coastal zones, has helped ease pressure on tourism infrastructure while expanding travel experiences. This reflects an increasingly flexible and diverse tourism trend in Lam Dong Province during peak periods, especially after Mui Ne was recognized as a national tourism area.
