Lam Dong Chairman Ho Van Muoi Inspects Lien Khuong International Airport

On August 4, Ho Van Muoi, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee, led a delegation to inspect Lien Khuong International Airport to review the progress of runway rehabilitation, infrastructure upgrades and preparations for the airport's reopening.

The runway and taxiway rehabilitation project at Lien Khuong International Airport has a total investment of more than VND 1.032 trillion and commenced on March 4, 2026.

To date, all major construction works—including asphalt pavement removal, earthworks, runway and taxiway concrete paving, and mechanical and electrical (M&E) infrastructure—have reached 100% completion. Aviation safety, security and technical standards have also been fully met.

According to the project schedule, final inspections, acceptance procedures and licensing will be completed between August 1 and 17, paving the way for the airport to officially resume operations on August 19, 2026.

Enhancing the Airport's Image

Following the site inspection, Chairman Ho Van Muoi commended the efforts of the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) and contractors for maintaining construction progress.

He requested the contractors, the project investor and relevant agencies to mobilize maximum manpower and equipment, strictly control construction quality and prevent technical errors.

Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Muoi also stressed that all preparations must be carried out in a coordinated manner to ensure the highest standards of safety and convenience for passengers and airlines.

The provincial chairman also highlighted the importance of improving the airport's overall appearance, both inside and outside the terminal.

He instructed relevant units to promptly remove outdated construction equipment and materials, repaint or replace service counters with a unified design, and complete landscaping by adding topsoil and planting grass along both sides of the runway.

In addition, Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Muoi called for a comprehensive cleanup of the airport, replacement of directional and promotional signage from National Highway 20 to the terminal area, and the development of an aesthetically designed arrival hall.

The Chairman also proposed creating a dedicated display area featuring OCOP (One Commune One Product) specialties, allowing visitors to explore Lam Dong's signature local products upon arrival.
