Lam Dong Chairman Meets Agrimeco Consortium on Investment Proposals
On June 25, Ho Van Muoi, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial People’s Committee, chaired a working session with the Agrimeco consortium to discuss orientations and proposals for investment projects in the province. Representatives from relevant departments and agencies attended the meeting.

The investor consortium was represented by Chu Thanh Hoai, Deputy General Director of Agrimeco Corporation, along with other consortium members.
At the meeting, the Agrimeco consortium proposed a renewable energy project portfolio utilizing reservoirs and irrigation canals across Lam Dong. The proposed portfolio includes 32 component projects with a combined capacity of 2,399 MW and a total estimated investment of more than VND 78 trillion.

The portfolio consists of 17 hydropower projects on irrigation reservoirs with a total capacity of 53.1 MW and investment capital of VND 1.328 trillion; one pumped-storage hydropower project with a capacity of 1,078 MW and investment capital of VND 21.56 trillion; five floating solar power projects on irrigation reservoirs with a combined capacity of 950 MW and investment capital of VND 19 trillion; and nine solar power projects installed along irrigation canals with a total capacity of 318 MW and investment capital of VND 36.358 trillion.
“With extensive experience in developing projects across many localities nationwide, we are committed to implementing these projects swiftly. If conditions are favorable, once completed and put into operation, the project portfolio will make a significant contribution to Lam Dong’s GRDP,” said Chu Thanh Hoai, Deputy General Director of Agrimeco Corporation and representative of the investor consortium.
Strong Support for Renewable Energy Development
During the discussion, provincial departments and agencies generally expressed strong support for the consortium’s proposed project portfolio, noting that it could help maximize the multi-purpose use of Lam Dong’s existing irrigation infrastructure.

However, agencies emphasized that the investor must conduct detailed assessments to ensure that project implementation does not affect the structural integrity or operational functions of reservoirs. The development of energy projects associated with irrigation works should be closely coordinated with the agencies responsible for managing and operating these facilities.

Relevant departments also recommended that the projects be integrated into local planning frameworks to avoid overlaps and future planning adjustments. The consortium was further advised to study market demand and output solutions for electricity and related products once the projects become operational.
Province Commits to Supporting Investors
Concluding the meeting, Chairman Ho Van Muoi welcomed the consortium’s proactive efforts in identifying Lam Dong’s development potential and proposing a range of investment projects for the province.

He noted that with strong commitment and close cooperation between investors and local authorities, these development opportunities could be transformed into concrete projects in the near future.
In principle, Lam Dong fully supports and highly appreciates the investor’s proposals. The most important task now is for relevant departments and agencies, together with the investor, to urgently complete the necessary documentation and procedures for inclusion in the National Power Development Plan VIII.

Upholding the spirit of “accompanying businesses and investors through to the final outcome,” Lam Dong is committed to creating the most favorable conditions for investors conducting research and implementing projects in the province.
