Commercial infrastructure continues to expand

According to the Department of Industry and Trade, construction of the Dam Rong Market was launched over the past year, adding new commercial facilities to meet local shopping demands. Meanwhile, the Dak Mil Shopping Center project, covering more than 7,500 square meters with a total investment of VND 645 billion, is being expedited and is expected to be completed and put into operation in 2026.

Earlier this month, relevant agencies proposed that the provincial People’s Committee approve the investment for a market project in Ta Nang Commune. The Ta Nang Commune central market is expected not only to serve daily trading needs and local product consumption but also to boost trade, services and tourism, as the area is the starting point of the well-known Ta Nang – Phan Dung trekking route, which attracts a large number of visitors.

To date, Lam Dong has 260 markets, including 58 urban and 202 rural markets. These comprise one wholesale agricultural market, 10 Grade-1 markets combining wholesale and retail functions, and 249 retail markets. In addition, the province’s modern retail network includes six shopping centers, nine supermarkets, 120 Bach Hoa Xanh stores and 39 WinMart+ convenience stores.

In terms of e-commerce infrastructure, Lam Dong currently hosts five e-commerce platforms, three e-commerce service applications, more than 400 registered websites, and numerous business-operated sales applications certified by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, contributing to the diversification of distribution channels.

Recently, a well-known retail enterprise based in Ho Chi Minh City proposed studying investment in shopping centers and supermarkets in the province. The proposal outlines plans to expand a modern retail network with facilities of at least 3,000 square meters, with potential locations in areas along major roads such as Xuan Huong - Da Lat Ward, Duc Trong Commune and Di Linh Commune. To facilitate the project, leaders of the Department of Industry and Trade have requested relevant local authorities to coordinate in reviewing and identifying suitable land funds that meet the proposed criteria.

Linking infrastructure with diversified consumption channels

Along with infrastructure development, Lam Dong places strong emphasis on promoting production–consumption linkages. By the end of 2025, the province had established 428 linkage chains involving nearly 47,600 households in crop cultivation and livestock farming. Products within these linkage chains have become increasingly diverse, covering most of the province’s key agricultural commodities.

Following administrative merger, Lam Dong has four products that have completed domestic geographical indication registration, including Binh Thuan dragon fruit, Phan Thiet fish sauce, Dak Nong pepper and Lam Dong coffee. Among them, Binh Thuan dragon fruit and Phan Thiet fish sauce have also completed geographical indication registration overseas.

In addition, the province currently holds 30 certification marks and 10 collective trademarks, while more than 20 enterprises have been supported in applying and obtaining international quality management certifications such as ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, HACCP, GlobalGAP and Halal. These efforts have helped strengthen the image of local products and reinforce Lam Dong’s reputation as a reliable supplier capable of delivering large volumes of high-quality goods.

Notably, during the 2023–2025 period, Lam Dong coordinated a series of trade connection programs with international distribution systems, including Aeon, MM Mega Market, Central Group, GO!, Walmart, Costco and Carrefour. The province also participated in international trade promotion events to introduce Lam Dong’s agricultural products and expand exports, particularly to China—one of the world’s most populous and promising markets.

At the same time, local authorities have supported enterprises in adopting e-commerce by facilitating participation in international platforms such as Alibaba and TikTok Shop, thereby promoting export growth.

Looking ahead, Lam Dong will continue to organize trade promotion and business matching activities with foreign distribution networks, while supporting enterprises in cross-border e-commerce. The province has also proposed that the Ministry of Industry and Trade assist in fostering cooperation with distribution chains in Islamic countries such as Saudi Arabia and the UAE, with the aim of promoting key Lam Dong products, including coffee, tea, herbal tea and dried fruits, to these markets.
