Lam Dong disburses more than VND 114 billion in forest environmental service payments

Strengthening livelihoods and promoting sustainable forest management

The funding will be allocated to 227 forest-owning entities, including 27 protection and special-use forest management boards, 14 single-member forestry limited liability companies, 167 other organizations, 11 local communities and eight commune-level People's Committees.

The disbursement of more than VND 114.6 billion in FES payments not only helps create sustainable livelihoods for people whose lives are closely connected to forests, but also contributes to improving the effectiveness of sustainable forest management, protection and development throughout Lam Dong Province.

The Lam Dong Forest Protection and Development Fund has requested forest owners to manage and use the allocated funds in accordance with regulations, while promptly transferring FES payments to households and communities contracted to protect forests, ensuring the rights and benefits of people directly involved in forest conservation.

According to assessments, forest owners across the province have, in recent years, closely coordinated with the provincial Forest Protection and Development Fund, forest ranger forces and local authorities in implementing the FES payment policy.

This funding source has played an important role in creating stable financial resources for forest management, protection and development, while enhancing the responsibility of organizations, households and local communities in safeguarding forest resources.
