Lam Dong Expands Cultural and Tourism Cooperation With Laos’ Champasak Province

Lam Dong Province and Champasak Province of Laos are strengthening cooperation in culture and tourism to enhance regional connectivity and promote sustainable tourism development.

The Lam Dong Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism held a working session on May 27 with a delegation from the Department of Information, Culture and Tourism of Champasak Province, Lao People’s Democratic Republic, to discuss a new phase of bilateral cooperation.

Vietnam–Laos friendship remains foundation for cooperation

Speaking at the meeting, Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc, Acting Director of the Lam Dong Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, emphasized the long-standing traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.

She noted that the relationship has been nurtured through generations of leaders and people from both countries.

Based on that strong foundation, Lam Dong and Champasak provinces have maintained various practical cooperation and exchange activities in recent years, particularly in the fields of culture and tourism.

Lam Dong highlights tourism strengths

According to Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc, Lam Dong possesses significant advantages for developing high-quality tourism, positioning the locality as one of Vietnam’s notable tourism destinations.

In addition to its mild climate, the province benefits from a unique combination of highlands, coastal landscapes and the Central Highlands ecosystems, creating distinctive natural scenery.

Lam Dong is also home to diverse traditional cultural values, heritage systems, festivals and signature tourism products, helping build an image of a friendly and attractive destination for domestic and international visitors.

Champasak seeks stronger tourism connectivity

At the meeting, Tedavanh Keo Phi La Vanh, Director of the Department of Information, Culture and Tourism of Champasak Province, introduced the province’s cultural and tourism potential.

He stressed that expanding cooperation between the two provinces serves as a vivid demonstration of the great friendship and special solidarity between Vietnam and Laos.

Representatives from Champasak businesses also proposed expanding tourism promotion activities, strengthening business connectivity and enhancing cooperation in cultural and tourism development between the two localities.

Tourism associations sign cooperation agreement

As part of efforts to strengthen tourism cooperation, the Tourism Associations of Lam Dong Province and Champasak Province signed a memorandum of understanding on tourism development cooperation.

Representatives of the Tourism Associations of Lam Dong Province and Champasak Province sign a memorandum of understanding.

Under the agreement, both sides committed to coordinating the exchange of tourism information, promotional images and videos while supporting communication activities through official websites, fanpages and digital media platforms.

The two provinces will also cooperate in organizing Famtrip programs, participating in international tourism fairs and promoting each other’s major tourism events.

Provincial officials said the cooperation framework is expected to further strengthen and expand practical, effective and sustainable ties between Lam Dong and Champasak in the fields of culture and tourism.
