Strengthening links between training and industry
Representatives from provincial departments, educational institutions and businesses met with a delegation from the Chamber of Trades and Crafts (CMA) of the Pyrénées-Orientales region, France, at the Lam Dong Department of Education and Training.
The meeting, organized under the direction of the provincial People’s Committee, brought together officials from departments including Education and Training, Foreign Affairs, Industry and Trade, Culture, Sports and Tourism, as well as the Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center and provincial Police.
Discussions focused on developing internationally accredited vocational training programs, expanding student exchange and internship opportunities, and facilitating study programs for Vietnamese students in France. Both sides also examined cooperation needs between training institutions and businesses, alongside the potential for integrating vocational training with tourism-based promotion of local products.

Focus on food industries and local value chains
The proposed cooperation framework centers on three pillars: vocational training, student exchange and economic partnership. Priority sectors include food processing, baking, chocolate production and meat processing—areas aligned with Lam Dong’s strengths in agriculture and tourism.
The initiative aims to enhance the value of local products while improving workforce skills through international standards and industry-linked training models.

Expanding international exchange opportunities
The cooperation comes amid broader efforts to deepen Vietnam–European Union collaboration in vocational education, following the EU’s approval of a five-year cooperation program in November 2025. The initiative enables training institutions and students to participate in international exchange under frameworks such as Erasmus.
During their visit from May 5 to 7, the CMA delegation is scheduled to work with several educational institutions in Lam Dong, including Thang Long High School for the Gifted, Tay Son Secondary and High School, Da Lat University, Da Lat College and Yersin University. The delegation will also conduct field surveys and engage with local businesses to explore partnership opportunities.
