Lam Dong Finalizes Plan for Scientific Conference on New Development Phase
On May 4, the Lam Dong Provincial People’s Committee and the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics held an online meeting to review and finalize the draft plan for organizing the scientific conference titled “Lam Dong Provincial Development Model: Potential and Breakthrough.”

At the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics’ venue, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Manh Hung, Deputy Director of the Academy and Vice Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, attended and co-chaired the meeting. At the Lam Dong provincial venue, Le Trong Yen, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, chaired the session.

Clarifying key contents and orientations
During the meeting, delegates focused on discussing and providing feedback on the draft plan for the conference.

According to the draft, the conference is expected to be held in late May 2026 in Lam Dong Province, with the participation of approximately 100 to 120 delegates, including leaders of central and local agencies, scientists, experts, businesses, and investors.
The conference will focus on clarifying both theoretical and practical foundations of provincial-level development models in the new context; comprehensively assessing Lam Dong’s potential, advantages, limitations, and bottlenecks following the expansion of its development space; and proposing orientations and breakthrough solutions for rapid, sustainable, green, and inclusive development.

Focusing on key themes to shape future development
The conference program will include presentations and roundtable discussions, addressing major topics such as shaping the provincial development model for the 2026–2030 period with a vision toward 2050; restructuring development space; developing the bauxite–alumina industry; renewable energy; high-tech agriculture; as well as mechanisms, specific policies, and resource mobilization.

Ensuring quality and practical outcomes
Speaking at the meeting, Standing Vice Chairman Le Trong Yen requested relevant departments and sectors to fully absorb feedback and continue reviewing and refining the plan in a scientific, rigorous manner to ensure both quality and progress.
He emphasized that the conference should aim to produce concrete outputs with high applicability, directly serving policy-making and the shaping of the province’s development model in the new phase.
Representing the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Manh Hung expressed strong agreement with the draft plan, while also recommending greater depth in presentations and the mobilization of leading experts to enhance the overall quality and effectiveness of the conference.
