Lam Dong Implements Project to Ensure Security and Safety in Tourism Activities
Vice Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial People’s Committee Dinh Van Tuan has issued a decision to implement the Project on Ensuring Security and Safety in Tourism Activities across the province.

As stated by the Provincial People’s Committee, after the administrative merger, Lam Dong now features a diverse and abundant ecosystem that includes forests, rivers, lakes, waterfalls, caves, seas, and islands, along with many historical and cultural sites and unique traditional festivals.
Tourism has grown swiftly in recent years, becoming a crucial economic sector that enhances economic development, generates employment, improves locals' livelihoods, and elevates the province’s image.
In 2022, the province welcomed 13.7 million visitors, including 239,700 from other countries. By 2023, this number increased to 17.6 million visitors, with international arrivals reaching 679,700. In 2024, total arrivals reached 20.2 million, including 999,200 international tourists. In 2025, the province attracted 20.7 million visitors, of whom nearly 1.3 million were international guests.

The significant rise in visitor numbers has highlighted the urgent necessity to improve the effectiveness of security and safety measures in tourism activities.
In response, the Project has been developed to harness the collective strength of the political system and society, aiming to ensure security and safety while fostering a sustainable, civilized, and hospitable tourism environment
The primary aim of the Project is to create a safe, healthy, and secure tourism environment in Lam Dong; enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of government oversight; foster a conducive environment for investment and business; and contribute to socio-economic growth while ensuring national defense and security.
From 2026 to 2028, the province will focus on refining mechanisms, policies, and legal frameworks related to safety and security in tourism activities. The goal is for all tourism-related businesses to fully comply with regulations on security and order, food safety, and the prevention of commercial fraud, price undercutting, and harassment of tourists.
Tourism service providers must meet security and safety criteria; 100% of security personnel must be professionally trained and certified; 100% of establishments must have on-site rescue teams trained in emergency response and strictly comply with fire prevention and firefighting regulations.
The Lam Dong Provincial People’s Committee has designated the Provincial Police to spearhead the implementation of the Project; improve the management of immigration and residency for foreigners; tackle crimes that exploit tourism activities; and create community-focused security models along tourist paths and sites.
The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism is responsible for collaborating to improve the effectiveness of governmental oversight, increasing inspections and correcting business practices, offering training and capacity-building for personnel, and sharing legal regulations with businesses and tourists.
Relevant departments, agencies and local authorities are required to strengthen the management of investment, land, environment, pricing and infrastructure; strictly handle violations; and promote the “All People Protecting National Security” movement so that Lam Dong continues to be a safe, civilized and sustainable destination, worthy of its position as a leading tourism and resort center of the country and the region.
