Preparing for a Vibrant Flower Festival

The festival will continue promoting the image, culture, people and tourism of Lam Dong – Da Lat while reinforcing Da Lat's position as a UNESCO Creative Destination of Music. This year's highlight is the fusion of Da Lat's signature floral landscapes with large-scale music performances, creating a harmonious blend of nature, culture and creativity.

Preparations for the festival are already underway. Among the first initiatives is the launch of the "Every Citizen Plants Flowers, Every Home Grows Flowers" campaign, which encourages widespread community participation. Residential neighborhoods, businesses, schools, religious institutions and households are joining hands to plant and care for flowers and greenery, contributing to a cleaner, greener and more beautiful living environment while creating a vibrant floral landscape throughout the land of flowers.

To date, wards in central Da Lat have developed detailed plans, selecting key roads, gateways and tourist areas for floral decoration based on specific themes. Urban beautification projects are being implemented, including a fresh-flower welcome gate at the foot of Prenn Pass; landscape improvements along routes from Prenn Pass to Ho Tung Mau Street, from Trai Mat to the entrance of Ta Nung Pass, and on major roads leading into Lang Biang – Da Lat Ward. Authorities are also developing floral spaces around Xuan Huong Lake, at roundabouts, intersections and city gateways, while upgrading the lake embankment, installing artistic lighting and creating new photo check-in locations.

In Xuan Truong–Da Lat Ward, numerous activities have been planned in response to the festival, including the "Bright – Green – Clean – Beautiful" neighborhood competition; planting 1,000 cherry blossom trees to establish signature flower-lined streets; upgrading the Huynh Tan Phat roundabout; creating an artichoke flower-themed landscape featuring greenery and artistic lighting; and developing a floral landscape at the scenic stop near the D'ran Pass suspension bridge to create a new highlight at the ward's eastern gateway.

The enthusiasm for planting flowers and improving public spaces has spread throughout residential communities through regular "Green Sunday" activities.

Vo Thi Meo, a resident on Cao Ba Quat Street in Lang Biang – Da Lat Ward, has been busy trimming hedges, refreshing flower beds and planting additional ornamental flowers.

"The Flower Festival requires everyone's participation. If each household takes care of a small garden or a flower-lined fence, the entire Da Lat will become one large flower garden welcoming visitors," she said.

Pham Thi Thanh Thuy, who lives on Ly Tu Trong Street in Xuan Huong – Da Lat Ward, home to Da Lat's light art street, has also renovated the flower beds in front of her house, added new flower varieties and regularly maintained ornamental plants.

Our neighborhood welcomes many visitors who come to sightsee and take photographs, so every family feels responsible for preserving the landscape. We are delighted to contribute in our own way to making Da Lat even more beautiful during the Flower Festival.

To ensure preparations remain on schedule, Dinh Van Tuan, Vice Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee, has instructed relevant departments and agencies to continue providing guidance on landscape design, technical support for flower cultivation and maintenance, and the selection of Da Lat's signature flower species suited to the local climate and urban landscape.

Priority is being given to long-lasting, easy-to-maintain flower varieties to ensure sustainability and visual appeal. He also called for stronger social participation to expand the "Every Citizen Plants Flowers, Every Home Grows Flowers" movement, helping build an increasingly bright, green, clean and beautiful Da Lat.

With coordinated preparations by authorities at all levels and enthusiastic participation from local residents in creating flower-lined streets, green neighborhoods and unique artistic spaces, the 11th Da Lat Flower Festival 2026 is expected to become a memorable destination for flower lovers.

According to the organizing plan, the festival will feature 11 major programs, including the launch of the "Every Citizen Plants Flowers, Every Home Grows Flowers" campaign; a scientific conference on technology and innovation as drivers of sustainable development in Da Lat's flower value chain; the Third Vietnam Brocade Culture Festival; the Vietnam Jazz Festival 2026; and a festival of modern bands and dance groups...

The opening ceremony is scheduled for the evening of December 19 at Lam Vien Square, while the closing ceremony, combined with the 2027 New Year's arts program, will take place on the evening of December 31, 2026.
