Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Lam Dong People’s Committee Dinh Van Tuan highlighted the significance of the event, describing it as both the kickoff to a vibrant summer tourism season and a strategic milestone in advancing tourism as a key economic sector.
He emphasized that the province is committed to strengthening investment promotion, enhancing destination branding, stimulating tourism demand and improving competitiveness in a rapidly evolving landscape.

Mui Ne has been identified as a high-potential tourism zone, benefiting from its long coastline, year-round sunny climate, distinctive natural landscapes and rich cultural assets. Within Lam Dong’s expanded development framework following administrative restructuring, Mui Ne serves as a coastal gateway linking the Central Highlands with the south-central coastal and southern key economic regions.

In recent years, Mui Ne tourism has seen strong growth, gradually reinforcing its position on both domestic and international tourism maps. Notably, on April 8, 2026, Mui Ne was recognized by Booking.com as one of the world’s top trending destinations.

Following its official recognition as a National Tourist Area in 2020, the province accelerated the development of its master plan, which was approved on November 14, 2025.

Under the plan, covering approximately 14,760 hectares, Mui Ne will be developed following the model of “one coastal corridor – three centers – multiple sea access points,” with the ambition of becoming an internationally recognized tourism hub and a leading destination in the Asia-Pacific region, while ensuring sustainable development and preservation of natural and cultural resources.

The plan sets targets of attracting around 14 million visitors by 2030, 25 million by 2040 and up to 35 million by 2050.
In parallel, the groundbreaking of the Phan Thiet Airport’s civil aviation component on April 27, 2026, with a designed capacity of two million passengers per year, is expected to significantly improve connectivity and reduce travel time for both domestic and international visitors.

At the ceremony, Nguyen Thi Hoa Mai praised Lam Dong’s proactive and innovative approach in organizing tourism stimulus initiatives.
She expressed confidence that the development of Mui Ne National Tourist Area would become a driving force for tourism in Vietnam’s south-central coastal region, forming part of a key tourism corridor linking Cam Ranh – Nha Trang – Mui Ne – Da Lat – Ho Chi Minh City.

The 2026 Summer Tourism Season will run from April to August, featuring a wide range of cultural, sports and tourism activities across the province. With the theme “Visit Lam Dong – Chase clouds, ride the silver waves” and the message “Lam Dong – A destination to love,” the program aims to promote the province as a journey of “sea, flowers and highlands.”

The event is expected to attract a large number of visitors, contributing to socio-economic development while reinforcing Lam Dong’s image as a dynamic and attractive destination on both the national and international tourism maps.
