Lam Dong launches free health checkups for residents in 2026
On May 12, Vice Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial People’s Committee Dinh Van Tuan chaired a conference on implementing the province’s 2026 plan for free periodic health checkups and health screenings for residents.

According to the Department of Health, medical facilities across the province have been assigned specific targets. Commune-level health stations will provide routine health checkups for children under six, while hospitals and clinics will organize screenings for different groups based on priority and assigned areas.

Healthcare facilities are required to ensure sufficient medical staff, equipment, and supplies, conduct examinations in line with professional procedures, and update electronic health records through the VNeID application in accordance with regulations.
At the conference, departments, agencies, and local authorities discussed coordination measures, staffing arrangements, facility preparation, and patient flow management to ensure the program stays on schedule.

Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman Dinh Van Tuan emphasized that the program is an important task requiring urgent and effective implementation. The province aims for 50% of residents to receive free periodic health checkups or screenings by the end of the second quarter of 2026.

To meet the target, provincial departments and local authorities were instructed to coordinate closely and proactively prepare all necessary conditions for implementation. Priority will be given to students, followed by workers in industrial parks and factories, before expanding to other groups.
The Department of Health has been tasked with overseeing implementation, providing professional guidance, ensuring adequate personnel and equipment, and addressing difficulties during the rollout. Local authorities will support venue arrangements, staffing, and security for the health checkup program.
