Lam Dong launches Olympic Run for Public Health 2026
The People’s Committee of Lam Dong Province has issued a plan to organize a launching ceremony to further promote the campaign “All People Exercise Following the Example of President Ho Chi Minh,” together with the Month of Sports Activities for All and the 2026 Olympic Run for Public Health – For National Security.

The activity aims to continue effectively implementing the campaign “All People Exercise Following the Example of President Ho Chi Minh” for the 2021–2030 period, while raising public awareness of the role and benefits of physical exercise in protecting and improving health, physical fitness, and quality of life.
According to the plan, the launching ceremony will take place simultaneously at 6:30 a.m. on March 22, 2026. At the provincial level, the event will be organized at Lam Vien Square, Xuan Huong - Da Lat Ward, with an estimated 2,500–3,000 participants. Localities across the province will also organize ceremonies at the commune level, each expected to mobilize around 800–1,000 participants.
Participants will include a large number of officials, civil servants, public employees, armed forces, youth union members, students, workers, and local residents. Leaders of Party committees, authorities, the Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations, and representatives of agencies and businesses in the area are also invited to attend and support the event.
The launching program will feature several activities, including welcome performances, the flag-raising ceremony, the reading of President Ho Chi Minh’s “Call for Physical Exercise,” opening remarks, and the official launch of the physical training movement.
Following the ceremony, delegates and local residents will take part in the Olympic Run with a distance of about 2 kilometers around the Lam Vien Square area.
In addition to the run, several community sports games will also be organized to create a lively atmosphere, including mixed-gender tug-of-war, paired sack races, and group rope skipping.
The Provincial People’s Committee has assigned the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism as the standing agency to coordinate with relevant departments, sectors, and localities to prepare the event. Units such as the Provincial Police, Provincial Military Command, Provincial Youth Union, Department of Education and Training, and Department of Health will mobilize participants and ensure security, traffic safety, and medical services throughout the program.
Through this event, Lam Dong aims to promote physical exercise and sports across the community, encourage healthier lifestyles, improve public health, and support socio-economic development while strengthening national solidarity.
The event also aims to celebrate several important anniversaries, including the 95th anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1931 – March 26, 2026), the 80th anniversary of Vietnam’s Sports Sector Traditional Day (March 27, 1946 – March 27, 2026), and the 51st anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 – April 30, 2026).
