Lam Dong launches “Savings for the Poor” campaign
On April 3, the Lam Dong Provincial People’s Committee officially launched the 2026 “Savings for the Poor” campaign via an online ceremony, marking a renewed push to mobilize social resources for sustainable poverty reduction. The event was attended by Vo Ngoc Hiep, Member of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee.

In 2025, despite numerous challenges caused by natural disasters, Lam Dong Province achieved remarkable results in social welfare. The multidimensional poverty rate declined significantly, and hundreds of “Great Solidarity” houses were provided to disadvantaged households.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman Vo Ngoc Hiep emphasized that the province consistently regards the effective implementation of social policy credit programs as a key long-term task. These programs play a vital role in sustainable poverty reduction, the development of new rural areas, social security, and improving residents’ living standards.

Entering 2026, with higher and more sustainable growth targets, and in line with central government directives on improving the effectiveness of social policy credit, the province aims to diversify resources. Social mobilization including policy credit capital—remains an important channel to help people stabilize their livelihoods. A new feature of this year’s program is that instead of focusing solely on the peak month from April 1 to April 30, it will be implemented throughout the year, encouraging a culture of savings and more effective use of loans among the public.
At the launch, the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee officially called on agencies, organizations, businesses, and all citizens to uphold the tradition of solidarity and mutual support.
Many businesses and socio-political organizations signed savings deposit agreements worth billions of VND. The first savings books were presented to representatives of various associations, reflecting the commitment of the entire political system to leaving no one behind and mobilizing financial resources to support the poor and policy beneficiaries.
According to the 2025 report of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Lam Dong mobilized over VND 40 billion for the “Fund for the Poor” and related social welfare programs. More than 700 “Great Solidarity” houses were constructed or repaired, while over 20,000 disadvantaged households—including poor and near-poor families—received timely support to stabilize and improve their livelihoods.
